Name altered from Dendrochilum convallariiforme by the RHS

Dendrochilum sp. An undescribed terrestrial(!) species from the ultramafic tabletop of Mt. Hamiguitan, Davao Oriental Province, Mindanao, Philippines. The bracts range from greenish-white to pinkish-brown. This species is abundant on the tableland, where the waist-high blooms tower over the dwarf heath vegetation.

Plant was a good 3' tall from bottom of the pot to the tip of the leaves. You can see how floriferous it is.

Photographed at Atlanta Botanical Garden.

Labelled Dendrochilum magnum, Jim Cootes commented that in his opinion it was Dendrochilum macranthum. "I have never seen what I would consider to be a true Dendrochilum magnum, even in the Philippines."
