Day 20 - Delicious
It's Shrove Tuesday tomorrow (Pancake Day) and in Russia it is the beginning of Maslenitsa (Pancake week!) and I had every intention of cooking pancakes and that would have been my 'delicious' photo. But, am feeling a bit lazy this afternoon and I really don't NEED pancakes, so decided on something good for me AND delicious - avocado. I used not to like avocado until a few years ago. Not only are they delicious; they look good too; such a beautiful green.
Yes, I have started using Delicious Library although it is quite reluctant to import anything that is not in English and/or "tagged" by Amazon. But I have to start some where...
We love fun and fancy cakes and this one fits the bill. Stant'a nd snow globes come together in this delicious dark chocolate cake with peppermint crunch frosting.
Good food and free booz sadly don't mean many people will be there. Looks like the Pownce party thoroughly Rasmus'd this one.
Delicious, but for the record, not better than Star Provisions in Atlanta. The main advantage here is the Napa Valley setting, of course. I had the beef brisket sandwich, pressed and hot, on pretzel bread (though it was not salty like a pretzel would be). Very, very good.
To try next: Bouchon (think steak frites) and The French Laundry (think very expensive, very local, and very special).
A brutal agenda, I know, but someone has to do it.
