The fruit bats at the zoo are fed fruit, of course, and also a liquid mixture that completes their diet.
Our new apartment has a whole wall of windows facing east so we have lots of light. We also have a new shiny white dining table and transparent chairs.
I am taking a flickr break for a few weeks, will be back in August.

A little martini action made from delicious Moro Oranges (aka Blood Orange).
It is simply the juice of a Moro Orange and Vodka, shaken and poured into a sugar rimmed cocktail glass.
Amazing fun color and fabulous flavor.

I love Kebabs! Once you get a taste of these tender pieces of juicy meat - you'll get hooked on to them. I'd received my new Sigma 85mm f/1.4 over the weekend and thought of testing it out in this market at night. The best thing about this focal length is that I can now take street shots of candid expressions fairly easily - which I used to struggle with - when shooting with the 50mm. I can now stand a safe distance from my subjects - without coming into their "Intrusion zones" and click candid moments. Hope you like these shots. If you do - please leave a comment!

Ingredients
1 lb button mushrooms, stems removed
1 cup olive oil
1/2 cup red wine vinegar
2 garlic cloves, smashed
1/2 onion, finely chopped
3/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp dried crushed red peppers
1 bay leaf
3 sprigs of rosemary
Instructions
Well yes, you can guess it has been raining all day. It has been sheer heaven for us, the forest and gardens. Total of 30mm sofar today and still a bit more heading our way.
1900 mm for the year and that is not enough for us in the tropics.
Oh...computer up and running - purring like a kitten.

Throwing Muses - Fish
One of the many things New Zealand does best (IMHO). A hearty portion of fish & chips enjoyed dock side in Tauranga on the way to Whakatane later that day.
For anyone who ever gets over there, here it is on Street View - Bobbies Fish Market
It's definitely worth looking up. Fish comes in from the Pacific Ocean on the boats right there and right into the frier that day.
