WIth the start of Carnival season, our friend in New Orleans sent us our first king cake! From Manny Randazzo's bakery! OMG- delicious! She spoils us!

We had been to that Cafe to checkin the daily special for,the next day. An employee saw us leave empty handed on the sidewalk, and encouraged us to go back in as the milkshakes were half price the hour before closing. So glad she did. This was scrumptious.

I wanted a perfect ending. Now I've learned, the hard way, that some poems don't rhyme, and some stories don't have a clear beginning, middle, and end. This guy was selling treats at the entrance to the park in Shijiazhuang. They are so delicious. There are guys who sell these on the street by my house in Chinatown, but I'd never actually tried one until this trip to China. I wonder how the state-side ones will compare...
