That delicate forest flower,
With scented breath and look so like a smile,
Seems, as it issues from the shapeless mould,
An emanation of the indwelling Life,
A visible token of the upholding Love,
That are the soul of this great universe
-William Cullen Bryant-
You'll be seeing a lot of the delicate Delicate Arch in the next few days so sit back and prepare to see a few minutes pass here and there... This was just a few minutes after sunrise - for those keeping track.
Arches National Park, November 2013 (working off our turkey on the morning after Thanksgiving!).

These feathers were less than 1 inch long - from a sparrow that one of the magpies got yesterday. I scared the magpie off, and picked up these feathers for a later shot.
For Macro Mondays theme Oct 12 of unusual patterns. I used the macro lens along with a 36mm extension tube.

Special thanks to our pilot for the day, Shane Gonzales, for his enthusiasm in showing us around and making sure we got the best possible shots!

We might kiss when we are alone
When nobody's watching
We might take it home
We might make out when nobody's there
It's not that we're scared
It's just that it's delicate
One of the very rare and delicate species of flower @ Kaas

I dug my prom dress out of it's hiding spot in the back of my closet! It's a vintage Jessica McClintock/Gunne Sax that belonged to my Mom in the seventies. The back detail was added by my awesome Mom, the night before prom, when I decided at the very last possible minute that I wanted to wear this dress even though it was far too small. She pulled a small miracle to make this work, and I still feel like a princess when i wear it.
(Bob calls me his delicate flower, because I cry so easily. I've stopped taking my birth control pills, maybe I won't cry quite as easily now. Maybe I'll be able to sleep through the night again.)
