I am quite happy with this one.

Please don't post/use this for any purpose without getting my permission.

Just ask, the chances are I'm probably going to say yes.

Isn't she delicate? She looks always so fragile. <3 She's the most girly girl of all of my girls lol.

DELICATE is the Topic for Sunday, 12 August 2012 Group ODC

The formation of Delicate Arch began millions of years ago, during the Jurassic period, when the area that is now Arches National Park was covered by oceans. Over time, layers of sedimentary rock were deposited, and the pressure and weight of the overlying layers caused the underlying rock to buckle and rise. Local cowboys and ranchers called the arch "Cowboy's Chaps" and "Schoolman's Bloomers" in the late 1800s.

It was also called "Salt Wash Arch," "Bloomers Arch," "Mary's Bloomers," "Old Maid's Bloomers," and "Pants Crotch".

Making sure only the appropriate pieces are removed.

A 5 second exposure at f2.8 on a near 50 year old zeiss 80mm with a 55mm extension tube.

Unfortunately the water main had become contaminated hence the high level of dirty and marking on the picture.

The bokeh and gradation of this lens I must admit surprised me more than I though was possible and I must say I think I may persist with some macro flower photography on the strength of this shot.

37/365 February 6th. Delicate threads of ice amongst today's snow. Snow is pretty rare for my area and it caused quite a flurry (pun totally intended) ;)

This is a pair of vintage shoulder pads. They are white in colour with a delicate woven pattern of flowers and vines. They each measure 6" x 3".

We should be able to shoot the Northern Taurid meteor shower on Nov12.

Northern Taurids - Nov 12

"The NTA peak has only a waning crescent Moon, however. With near-ecliptic radiants, all meteoricists can observe these streams, albeit northern hemisphere observers are somewhat better-placed, as here suitable radiant zenith distances persist for much of the night, though from the southern hemisphere, a good 3-5 hours' watching around local midnight is possible with Taurus well above the horizon."

This is Gaura Lindheimeri or Butterfly bush. Identified by Jenny Thynne.

Like teardrops these tiny glass balls hang from the ceiling. Its not the first place I saw them, nor do I feel it will be the last I will see of them, but I do know that it looks like the slightest breeze could bring them all shattering to the floor.

Vic has a very particular way to move. She is all delicate, like she did everything in slow mo. She loves to lay down an strech both her arms for a belly rub! She loves to be petted on her armpits too!

This is a new Allium I planted earlier this year, it is 18 inches high and just bursting into life. I love the delicate colour.

Thanks for looking and maybe commenting. Will be back later to catch up with your images. Have a nice day.

Part of my Capture your 365 project for August 2013. Todays prompt was "Delicate"

One of the displays at the Phipps Conservatory discussed delicate flowers. This was the first of the delicate flowers I saw in that area.

I love the delicate seafoam green of the water. I desaturated the background landscape so it wouldn't distract. I also did an alternate all B&W version, which I will also upload. Hard to pick which I like better.

odc - Delicate – Tues Oct 1 2013

At the Delicate Arch for sunrise, after hiking in under the stars. The Orionids were in full swing, and I saw two shooting stars on the way up.

Almost lost my Canon 17-40 F4 L lens here. Upon opening my camera bag my lens rolled out and headed down towards the edge where it was caught by a very nice lady. A big thank you to her!
