These flowers, again which I don’t know must be extremely hardy as they have been planted all round public places in Toowoomba, Queensland. Some are this lighter colour but many are a mauve colour.
Not only will they mostly be left to their own devices but they will have to tolerate Toowoomba’s hot and cold extremes.

A beautiful grouping of Gooseberryleaf Globemallow flowers thrives in the midst of healthy Prickly Pear cactus in the Utah desert canyons.
Delicate Arch is a 65-foot (20 m) tall freestanding natural arch located in Arches National Park near Moab, Utah.
It is the most widely-recognized landmark in Arches National Park and is depicted on Utah license plates and on a postage stamp commemorating Utah's centennial anniversary of statehood in 1996.
Vic has a very particular way to move. She is all delicate, like she did everything in slow mo. She loves to lay down an strech both her arms for a belly rub! She loves to be petted on her armpits too!
The good thing about this shot is that there are no people milling about the arch to screw up the shot. The bad thing about it is there are no people milling about the arch. :-) This thing is a LOT bigger than it looks in this and many other photos. One nice thing about having a person in the frame is that is shows the size of the arch much better.

this is my mom's friend. she flew in from korea last week (which is why we went to indy).
i took this picture of her hands because i really just liked the crop. upon reviewing the photo, i noticed how her clothes made little bokeh circles. niiice.
we ate at P.F. Chang's while in Indy. TOO EXPENSIVE. Not the most amazing food.
edit: grr. it makes better bokeh if it's larger. this small version on flickr looks like it doesn't even have much bokeh.
The Delicate Arch Trail was one extreme hike. 3 miles roundtrip, uphill pretty much the whole way, in 104°F weather. And I was naive enough not to bring water. But the view of this beautiful icon was definitely worth all the trouble.

Delicate Arch with overlying faulted Moab member of the Entrada sandstone and relay ramp. More recent work from the San Rafael Swell area suggests that the Moab member is equivalent to the Carmel formation
