Spent the weekend in Arches and Canyonlands National Parks.
I haven't had much of an opportunity to go through my shots, but here is one.
We hiked up to Delicate Arch for sunset and the usual party there. We stayed until well after dark to get shots of the arch light by a full moon.
“Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves. Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is to live everything. Live the questions”
Rainer Maria Rilke
Light makes photography. Embrace light. Admire it. Love it. But above all, know light. Know it for all you are worth, and you will know the key to photography.

Although it's one of the most photographed things in Utah (taking pride of place on the Utah registration plates), you can't go to Arches National Park without getting your own Delicate Arch shot at sunset. The 20+ other people with tripods there that afternoon felt the same way and we got what we came for with a nice clear sunset.

Delicate Arch is a 16 meter high freestanding natural sandstone arch in Arches National Park near Moab, Utah. Wikipedia

Pink Flower
Common Name(s): Pink Evening Primrose (Showy Primrose)
Species: Oenothera Speciosa
The sun dropped behind the clouds just moments after this image was captured (resulting in a poor sunset). While it wasn't the image I "pictured" beforehand, I think this turned out just fine.
I was glad to see blue sky that day, but it just looks so fake :-D
This was from the "viewpoint trail" which in itself was a decent hike to get this view. I made sure I went far enough to get clear sky behind/through the arch (otherwise it wouldn't look like one).
Delicate Arch, Arches National Park, Utah, USA.
The most recognisable symbol of Utah, Delicate Arch is a 65ft tall freestanding arch. A stunning view in one of the great National Parks.
Delicate Angels wings, made of copper I think, above the main entrance on the front of the Cathedral.

A beautiful pink Persian Buttercup in a pitcher. I used all natural lighting to capture this sit up and then I added effects and a texture to give the image an aged look. Imagine this as a mothers day card or haning in your bathroom or your bedroom.

I love the pretty.
So with the new year, I've decided to challenge myself a little. I'm going to do 2 project/series this year. Also I'm trying 365 Days Self Portraits (Ahh, can I make it?)
I'm doing these so that I have an excuse to photograph everyday and to give myself meaning to photography. I can't just keep taking snap shots or whatnot (although those kind of pictures will still show up in my stream!).
