This is a very iconic arch in Arches National Park and typically visited at sunset for photographers but we weren't disappointed with a morning sunrise visit.
I watched this dog go for a swim and come out of the surf walking so delicately. I didn't notice whether it was male or female!
Perhaps the most famous arch in the park. This was shot at the overlook where the arch could be seen as a small object in the distance. Brought in at maximum zoom of 500mm. This photo is the result.
There is a hike to it. But I didn't have the time or inclination.
These tiny flowers were thin as a whisper, nearly translucent in the moisture. Taken in the high altitude room of the Fuqua Orchid House at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens.
No colour adjustment at all! Just a horizon straighten and a contrast boost :)

Some of you wanted to see more on the left of the arch in my previous shot of the arch where I framed the arch on the extreme left of the frame. I had a set of shots just to the left, so I essentially stitched those to make a panorama. This is made from 6 shots, 3 for the left side and 3 for the right, separately merged into HDR in photoshop, then exposure corrected and stitched in Hugin. Final editing was done in photoshop on the stitched photo. Would like to hear what you think about this in comparison with the previous shot. Because of its panoramic aspect ratio, it looks much better in lightbox -- press L. One thing I would say is that at this time of the day, it is next to impossible to get a cleaner panoramic shot here. This was in January, and there were quite a few people. I can't imagine how many more there would be in summer.
I had first edited this photo last summer but for some reason never got around to posting it!
So today, when I found out in the summer archives because I was desperately trying to remember what Calgary looked like without snow (yes, we got still more snow today!), I figured today would be the perfect time to post it!

Io sono qui, immobile, respiro ciò che mi stanno dando questi fiori, che non si risparmiano ad offrire solo una bella visione, ma mi regalano l'essenza della vita umana.
