"Delicate Falls 2:" A slightly different view of these graceful waterfalls off the main path at Havasupai.
Prolific fall colors of several small big tooth maples are revealed here in a deep gulley in the Zion National Park's eastern section. Here I was attracted to the contrast of the trunks againist the sandstone cliffs and the delicate spray of color that accompanied it.

Nature never ceases to amaze, tiny little delicate flowers growing with hardly any rain to speak of for weeks, lots of bright sunshine beating down relentlessly and yet, these pretty little things decide to come out and display some lovely colour on the side of Snowdon which is pretty inhospitable at the best of times!

A closer shot of the native English Bluebell (Hyacinthoides non-scripta). It is much more delicate than the introduced, robust, Spanish Bluebell. It is also much bluer.

I noticed this newly emerged delicate little mushroom (Parasola plicatilis, I think) growing in the grass in my backyard and thought it would make a good subject to try shooting some of my vintage glass on my newly acquired Olympus OM-D E-M5II. This was taken through my Pentax-M 50mm f1.4 with a short extension tube.
I love these small white flowers, but I can NEVER remember the name. Sigh....

An Icon of Utah, the Delicate Arch is huge... 65 feet tall (20 m) and it's likenesses is found on Utah license plates and postage stamps.
That magical little stocking top pull, so feminine, so sensual, so delicate and yet so incredibly powerful as well. And as always a real joy for me to do.
Melissa and I hiked up to Delicate Arch last night. We hiked up and down in the dark, it was an amazing experience, especially since we were the only two people up there!
The moon was almost full, so there were very few stars visible. I hope that I'll have the opportunity to do this again with less ambient light.

In the UK, every 6 minutes a baby is born premature or sick, needing specialist hospital care. That's 82,000 babies every year - 22,000 of those need intensive care, often for many weeks or months.
Eleanor was born on 14 November 2007, 12 weeks early, weighing just 580g / 1lb 4oz. She needed Intensive Care for 3 months, and further specialist support for a further 2 months. She finally came home in April 2008 on oxygen supply and is doing well thanks to the ongoing support of York District Hospital.

To celebrate Eleanor's first birthday on 14 November 2008. we'd like to publicise the Campaign for Change www.121nursing.org.uk, to ensure better neonatal care for all early and sick babies through photographs. Adults and Children get one to one intensive care so why shouldn't babies? Bliss - www.bliss.org.uk - the special care baby charity, helps champion the care of our most vulnerable babies and their families, and is the only organisation in the UK dedicated to improving the survival and long-term quality of life for babies born too soon, too small or too sick to cope on their own.
This picture is dedicated to Eleanor and other babies like her, who need our support and delicate care.
Week #3 (w/b 26 July) Delicate and/or Elegant - This month we've been a little messy so now we are looking to be delicate and maybe a little elegant. If like me that's a little difficult then what can we find that's delicate or elegant - china, porcelain or maybe some intricate baking!
