Lounging is one of my favorite activities in SL, and if I can manage to accomplish that at a lakeside lagoon, all the better! Adorable pups, pretty places to wander about and explore, amazing friendships and shopping are the definition of SL to me. Speaking of which, while scampering about I have seen lots of these cute bandages at various shopping events for a while now, and they look fabulous and fun and sassy on everyone else. So I thought, okay, I love this one that is made to look as if its crafted of metal...a jewelry bandage, yay, I'll give it a whirl! I bought it, tossed it on immediately, and yes, as I suspected, on mini me it just looks as if my wild chihuahua snapped me while I was trying to kiss his lil cute face! The rascal!

So this rocky headland at Terrigal, NSW is known as the Skillion. A skillion is by definition a towering rocky headline overlooking the ocean. Pretty well sums it up! It also doubles as a piece of training equipment judging by all the groups of youngsters running up and down it early in the morning. Crazies!

Despite being from the cactus family, the May flower does not have any thorns. It originates in the Atlantic Forest of Brazil and is scientifically known as schlumbergera truncata.
Its preferences are similar to orchids in terms of support. In its natural environment it prefers to use tree trunks as support. Therefore, this place is one of the best to keep your flower.
The name of this plant became popular due to its flowering, which takes place in May. However, it can be known in other ways depending on the region you are in. Thus, other common names are: silk flower, easter cactus for the southern hemisphere and christmas cactus for the northern hemisphere.
This flower fell in love with gardening enthusiasts because it is medium in size, has a huge variety of colors such as pink, pale yellow, red, orange and white, in addition to being very easy to grow.
The May flower reaches 30 cm in height, and can be kept in smaller pots with a diameter of 10 cm. Another curiosity is that if this plant is pollinated, it produces pink fruits with 1 to 2 cm when ripe.

This plant blooms in autumn, which in Brazil takes place between March and May. This time is close to Easter, which is also related to the flower. On the other hand, it can still bloom around Christmas in the Northern Hemisphere.

In a biogeographic definition, paramo is any intertropical mountain ecosystem, characterized by shrubby vegetation that generally occurs from altitudes of about 3,000 to 4,000 meters or up to 5,000 meters, that is, in regions above the forest line. continuous but still below the permanent snow line. It is found in East Africa, New Guinea, and Central and South America. However, since in each of these regions this ecosystem has a specific name, when discussing Paramos, we refer specifically to Andean Paramos.
In this strict sense of the term, all Paramos are located in the neotropical zone, mainly in northwestern South America, present in Venezuela, Colombia, Peru and Ecuador. The ecosystem occupies over 30,000 km² of South America and represents 7% of Ecuador's territory. In absolute terms, Colombia is home to 50% of the extent of Paramos (in its three branches of the Andes) and the largest Paramo in the world (Sumapaz).
Paramos' climate is characterized by wide daily fluctuations in temperature and humidity. In general, cold and humid, can undergo a sudden and drastic change in which temperatures fluctuate from below freezing to 30 ° C plus in a daily freeze-thaw cycle. High altitude in tropical locations produces a special, cold, low air density atmosphere that allows for greater dispersion of ultraviolet radiation (light and heat). In Paramo ecosystems, soils are generally recent, of glacial and volcanic origin, and many are still in formation. Its structure is a combination of organic material that decomposes very slowly in cold weather with volcanic ash. They usually have low pH (acidity) because of the abundance of moisture and high content of organic matter. These characteristics contribute to soil water retention, which in turn is the basis of an essential environmental service: the constant storage and distribution of clean water to lower places.
The largest and most known area is the Páramo grass, which covers large areas of the mountain ranges. It extends from approximately 3,500 to 4,100 m in height, and is mainly composed of grasses and small shrubs.

We specifically went to Dungeness to capture some moody skies as that's what the weather forecast said but against all the odds the sun decided to shine which it hasn't done for a good few days. Might be worth a look in large if you have the time as the sun made for some pretty good definition in the clinker.

Spring, also known as springtime, is one of the four temperate seasons, succeeding winter and preceding summer. So I went Spider Hunting last night and thankfully, despite the frequent thunderstorms as of late, a good few webs with occupants were still available. Albeit some were at incredibly awkward angles, this ferocious girl was tucking into its most recent capture as I came by, her fangs are quite visible which I was happy about, as so often I come across them and they're already masticating down on whatever they caught that day, so I end up with an interesting face but the fangs are occupied with a half devoured bug.
