Set the Colour Select between green and yellow for better definition. I feel it highlights the eyes.

i looked down from the summit
and what did i see? me.
for as far as the eyes could see... only me,
me, me, me, me, me, me, me.
i hope our european friends realize
we still wanna be friends...
we can play nice.
Under the rug
Old shadows inside
Wait for their moment
They plan their surprise
A confetti supply
When I'm feeling feeble
I swear that it won't happen again
There's nobody else
We've become lost
Shine lights in the past
No sign of way out
Our cryptic love
With time it gets worse
It builds up behind us
I swear it won't happen again
There's nobody else
I swear that it won"t happen again.

It was so hot during our visit at Badlands National Park (~95F/35C, no shade), after venturing out for less than 2 hours one morning, we crawled back and hid in the A/C hotel room until the late afternoon.
When we got back to the park, the sun was still strong, so we only did a nice and easy hike, Door Trail, which took us to the extra-terrestrial landscape with strangely shaped buttes and spires.
This photo was taken from the Door Trail's trailhead on Day 2 at the beginning of the hike.

Badlands National Park:
With the extreme temperatures (hot in summer and cold in winter) and lack of water, the exposed rugged Badlands National Park got its name from the Lakota - "mako sica" or "land bad".
The French-Canadian fur trappers called it "les mauvais terres pour traverse" or "bad land to travel through" - summers are hot and dry, winters are cold and windy, there is very little drinking water and the land is hard to travel through.
Today, the term ‘badlands’ has a more geologic definition - soft sedimentary rock clay-rich soils that are extensively eroded in a dry climate by wind and water, resulting in a topography with sharp spires, gullies, and ridges.
The unforgiving landscape makes it a great place to visit but this is not the kind of place that many would like to call home.

So I went Spider Hunting last night and thankfully, despite the frequent thunderstorms as of late, a good few webs with occupants were still available. Albeit some were at incredibly awkward angles, this ferocious girl was tucking into its most recent capture as I came by, her fangs are quite visible which I was happy about, as so often I come across them and they're already masticating down on whatever they caught that day, so I end up with an interesting face but the fangs are occupied with a half devoured bug.
I hope everyone is well and so as always, thank you! :)
~ Out in the garden, the shadows merge with the dark,
till all I have taken for granted - the half-truths of form,
the goodwill of definition -
is folded up, as matter always is,
falling away, like the undelivered soul,
toward nothingness. ~

Storm Chasing Video from afternoon on Flickr Click Here
Late August here in Nebraska. I usually would be chasing out in Western Nebraska Eastern Colorado this time of year. Mother Nature made it dry as a desert here. Record Heat & drought in 2022 on the plains of Nebraska. This was the ONLY storm that came into range for the whole month.
Gear was prepped & ready for a month....I was prepared that afternoon. A short jaunt to my east and then north. Irrigated Corn this time of year here is about 14 feet & it will be ready for harvest soon.
Had to find a good location where there was no tall corn. Found a hill with a perfect view. Lucky to find an open view with all that corn!
Though this didn't produce a tornado. Really good definition of a rotation wall cloud under this supercell. Glad I went out that day to capture these phenomenal snaps!
Enjoy!
