Fictional narrative portraiture speaks to people in a way fashion or documentary photography can’t. It introduces characters and creates stories that don’t exist, allowing the viewer to fill in the blanks themselves. By including minimal context and providing no prompt with the images, they stand completely alone, and when viewed individually, beg for a story to be told.

In my series, I explore the field of cinematic portraiture and fabricate moments that might show a small piece of a larger untold narrative. I invite you fill in the blanks with your own version of the story.

Everybody should hold out faith, whether in religious expression or otherwise.

Jeffrey Morlock takes the opportunity to explain ‘where ONPASSIVE came from and where it is headed’ in a very simple way. An excellent video to learn about this smart marketing solution, that visionary Mr Ash Mufareh designed for everyone to succeed.

I added some water to the floor to make the reflection. I increased the texture and added the white in the bottom right to help balance the picture

The Critical Middle East

Defining a US Strategy for the Middle East

9:00 pm - 10:00 pm MDT on Saturday, June 29, 2013

(Tickets Required) Intense conflict in Syria, prospects of nuclear warheads in Iran, arduous negotiations over a two-state solution between Israel and Palestine, and foreboding over a Sunni-Shiite cataclysm are only some of the challenges that frame US engagement in the Middle East. What is the best path forward for the United States?

Rainbow

University of Sunderland

Out of all the sights we were scheduled to see, I was most looking forward to the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland. After taking a bus, train, plane, and another 5 hour bus ride, we finally arrived at the cliffs. Unfortunately, immediately upon arrival it started pouring and visibility was almost nonexistent. I was devastated because we had to get back on the bus fairly quickly to return back home. Luckily, after only 5 minutes, the sun came out and with it emerged two full rainbows. It was a defining moment because I realized that sometimes you have to endure in order to experience beauty.

Nothing is more memorable than a smell. One scent can be unexpected, momentary and fleeting, yet conjure up a childhood summer beside a lake in the mountains; another, a moonlit beach; a third, a family dinner of pot roast and sweet potatoes during a myrtle-mad August in a Midwestern town. Smells detonate softly in our memory like poignant land mines hidden under the weedy mass of years. Hit a tripwire of smell and memories explode all at once. A complex vision leaps out of the undergrowth.
