This was my first father's day that felt like a father's day. Last year, Kaylee was just a pud and Heather and I were probably exhausted. But this year was different. This year Heather somehow got Kaylee to say "Hap-pee da-da-dee". Kaylee also got me a little card with her first crayon drawing and a whole sack of apple for me and her to share.
This is how I define my happiness. You have to surround yourself with who you love, do what you love and love what life brings to you. I'm sure I can find a dozen things to complain about in my life, but when it comes down to it, none of that matters. None of the imperfect aspects mean anything when you embrace the good parts. Everyone will define they're happiness in life in different ways. The most important part is that you really acknowledge what that is and hold on to it.
Today, start on the path to define yourself. This never happens overnight, nor is it an easy road. But the more you focus on true happiness, the more you'll spread it to the rest of the world.

I seem to be doing this a lot lately with everything. Defining everything and analyzing. This photo in particular is doing it now. Never again (maybe) will I post a face on shot. I hate it. I don't know why I am posting it now. I have the most asymmetrical face and I start studying every feature. I'm in the slumps, facing everything that comes my way. I just found out from my mother two nights ago that one of my dogs has lymphoma, a type of cancer. This is the second time we've gone through this, and it's no easier. Luckily in his case they say he has a good chance of going into remission. I pray he gets well NOW. I'm so attached to animals, my babies, and wish they could live happily forever. If only.
Going to bed now, goodnight.

I was always fascinated by typography and the labelling on industrials tools, weapons, ordinance and other such hazardous instruments is so beautifully pragmatic, so cold and so pure. It is form and function married in implacable alliance. To look at it it is to take it for granted.
Bison bison (Linnaeus, 1758) - American plains buffalo in North Dakota, USA (August 2008).
Mammals are the dominant group of terrestrial vertebrates on Earth today. The group is defined based on a combination of features: endothermic (= warm-blooded), air-breathing, body hair, mother's milk, four-chambered heart, large brain-to-body mass ratio, two teeth generations, differentiated dentition, and a single lower jawbone. Almost all modern mammals have live birth - exceptions are the duck-billed platypus and the echidna, both of which lay eggs.
Mammals first appear in the Triassic fossil record - they evolved from the therapsids (mammal-like reptiles). Mammals were mostly small and a minor component of terrestrial ecosystems during the Mesozoic. After the Cretaceous-Tertiary mass extinction at 65 million years ago, the mammals underwent a significant adaptive radiation - most modern mammal groups first appeared during this radiation in the early Cenozoic (Paleocene and Eocene).
Three groups of mammals exist in the Holocene - placentals, marsupials, and monotremes. Other groups, now extinct, were present during the Mesozoic.
The American buffalo was formerly hyperabundant in western America. It was driven nearly to extinction by tribal American Indians and colonial Americans. The sizable population resulted from the species expanding into empty niche space after the end-Pleistocene mass extinction of large North American megafauna (e.g., mammoths, mastodons, etc.). The mass extinction was due to a combination of climate warming (= end of the Wisconsinan Ice Age) and overhunting by American Paleoindians.

I started collecting dutch rappers in the hopes of making something along this line. In about 7 months I had collected over 300 Dutch wrappers and began drawing the design on a poster board, using the wrappers design and Rembrants origional masterpiece as a referance. Around this time I was assigned to make a persuasive speach on the topic of my choice, and I choose weed. I showed my artwork which had taken over 30 hours of cutting the wrappers and pasting with rubber cement. I got the best grade in the class, even beating out the saluditorian who had an average over 100. I finished the peice in college by putting the dutch leaves as the backround, but I gave the speach and had "used" all the dutch wrappers before I turned 18. I am currently am trying to put my design on t shirts so let my boy jhex know if you think its ill.

Early evening, meet Stephen.
Returning from the lookout, I made this image, asked if he would like a file copy and can I post it.
All good; I should have apologized when I approached him as he was so close to finishing his [large] book.
We chatted, thanks Stephen!!
The sea looked like it had been outlined with blue felt tip this morning. Looks like Wales's run of good weather is done for now....
Had quite a restful day, which was lovely - though we did get all the Christmas stuff down from the loft and I had fun decorating our new house. The cheap old 2' Christmas tree looks surprisingly good against our new blue living room wall! (We might upgrade at some point, but I'm too tight to buy one full price, so aiming to find one in the New Year sales.)
Led by the University of Buckingham, this event series included workshops and events around Dickens’s last unfinished novel, ‘The Mystery of Edwin Drood’. These events contributed to an ogoing international project which explores this unfinished work through a reading group and blog developed from a digital re-release of Dickens's original monthly instalments, becoming a crowd-sourced whodunnit inquiry into which character the public believe committed the murder of Edwin Drood.

KIDS is a game of crowds. The project consists of a short film, an interactive animation, and an art installation. How do we define ourselves when we are all equal? Who is steering the crowd? What if it is heading in the wrong direction? Where does the individual end and the group begin? What is done by choice, and what under duress? KIDS was made using traditional 2D hand-drawn line animation in black and white. The animation was assembled, composited, and choreographed using a game engine with a custom-made animation system in conjunction with physics simulations. The characters in a crowd behave much like matter: They attract and repel, lead and follow, grow and shrink, align and separate.
