I love New York! Just out and about looking to define normal.

BTW: The Unicordion plays beautifully!!! As seen in Central Park on the west side by The Lake.

Interesting, I do love SC and B&W processing but I really like the colors in this shot.

DEFINE NATURE

the whole system of the existence, arrangement, forces, and events of all physical life that are not controlled by man

all natural phenomena and plant and animal life, as distinct from man and his creations

Defined as deep darkness, shadow, was often conceived as a primordial deity, representing the personification of darkness; for instance, Hesiod's Theogony places him as one of the first five beings to come into existence, born from Chaos.

Approaching MacTier, Ont., CPKC's transcontinental mainline traverses several muskegs on causeway-like stretches of track. On this beautiful afternoon in late May, CPKC GPS-24 rolls across one of the more expansive sections, surrounded by the wetlands that define much of the landscape in this part of Central Ontario.

So many times, I let myself feel overwhelmed, like the walls of my world are pushing in on me, and all I can do is cower, or deflect.

This shot reminds me that I define my own world, as much as it defines me...and this shot aligns me in the direction of what is most important...

Macro Mondays #DefiningBeauty

Size of the leaf: 4,7 x 2,6 cm / 1,8 x 1,02 inches

"Everything is beautiful if you look at it with love." Christian Morgenstern (1871-1914), German poet, writer and translator. "Schön ist eigentlich alles, was man mit Liebe betrachtet. Je mehr jemand die Welt liebt, desto schöner wird er sie finden."

Another leaf ;-) Rose hip leaf with rose hips attached - or probably the other way around ;-), plucked during yesterday's Sunday walk at the park. The photos weren't much, as it was very windy, the light wasn't good, and I felt rather uninspired, too, but I took a few rose-hips home, hoping to get at least a decent shot of something. I nearly skipped, it was late, but then I took a closer look at the leaves - and saw this one smile. It is this imperfection created by the dryness and heat of this summer, by age, the leaf's slightly crooked, pointy "nose", the beginning "autumnisation", which make this leaf so beautiful and special. Had it been perfectly fresh and green, it would have been perfectly beautiful. And a rose hip leaf amongst many others. And of course this leaf today is a leaf amongst many others ;-), each single one unique and beautiful in its own right.

Photographed with the Oly's in-camera focus stacking function (it really works very well!), processed in Luminar, (details, micro structure / contrast, foliage enhancer), finishing touches in Nik's Viveza. Please press "Z".

Keep smiling, have a Happy Macro Monday, and a beautiful new week ahead, dear Flickr friends!

Entwickelt in Luminar (u. a. Detailverbesserung, Mikrostruktur, Grünverbesserung) und Niks Viveza. Bitte "Z" drücken.

Ich wünsche Euch eine schöne neue Woche mit hoffentlich vielen Gelegenheiten zum Lächeln ;-)

Hello to anyone that read this! It's been a long time since my last upload... I was on a trip and had a lot of stuff going on when I came back to my home and I have just recently been able to work on my photos again.

Anyway, about this picture. Have you ever feel like you are walking on an already defined path but somewhere along the way you started to feel... doubtful? There should always be more possibilities out there. Are they reachable? What if I stray away? Would I be able to come back?

Well, I tried to materialized that feeling.

I wish had more occasions to snap this magnificent sculpture. It looked amazing in different lights and really needs multiple visits to do it justice.

The art is outstanding. The reason for its being is to remember an important epoch-defining event. It’s just sad that so many of humankind’s most memorable moments seem to be rooted in conflict. It’s not often you see a grand statue with the little plaque, “Here stood Mrs Puggy Wuggy a modest, affable lady and cook in the local school and who made lots people smile and brought happiness to all those around her”.

Ps for those interested, the sculpture, "The Gaelic Chieftain", by Maurice Harron, commemorates the Battle of Curlew Pass.

A fisherman returns to the Milang Jetty, Souh Australia.

A Pod of pelicans, also gathered like peas in a pod, wait with expectations of a tasty treat from the fisherman.

For it is only framed in space that beauty blooms.

Linda took the picture. She is an excellent fitness instructor.

Stack for Macro Mondays, as defined as pile or heap of items placed one on top of the other with at least three single elements. And since I have a small bag full of them, for one of the last Macro Monday challenges, why not use them again.

Crown caps stack from different brands of beer, stacked on top of each other, is less simple then it looks, the just break down fast, by mechanical movement or minor shocks.

Feel free to leave comments and constructive feedback. No P1/C1 or seen in group and similar.

This image pretty much sums up my idea of a perfect day.

Defined as Northern's by other railroads by the Whyte Wheel designation, this beauty cost the C&O $361,000 in June of 1948. It outlasted other C&O Greenbriers because it was used by the American Coal Enterprise to attempt to develop a steam locomotive to compete with diesels, it later became the Chessie Safety Special. It sits in Clifton forge at the C&O Historical Museum. A Lima built locomotive.

First time I’ve shot on Mauna Kea. I question why I haven’t ever been up there to shoot. It blew every place out of the water for night shooting. The conditions were perfect as it had a crystal clear sky and a blanket of clouds just below.

Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul. John Muir

My idea of beauty involves the handiwork of people - in this case I made the bread and jam (from cherries in my back yard). And we cannot ignore the beauty of nature ... including these 2 tiny wild daisies who found a home in my garden.

I love the work done by John Muir, too. His dedication to preserving nature enables us to enjoy beauty in natural spaces.
