Monument Valley (Navajo: Tsé Biiʼ Ndzisgaii, meaning valley of the rocks) is a region of the Colorado Plateau characterized by a cluster of vast sandstone buttes, the largest reaching 1,000 ft (300 m) above the valley floor. It is located on the Arizona–Utah border (around 36°59′N 110°6′WCoordinates: 36°59′N 110°6′W), near the Four Corners area. The valley lies within the range of the Navajo Nation Reservation and is accessible from U.S. Highway 163.
Monument Valley has been featured in many forms of media since the 1930s. Director John Ford used the location for a number of his best-known films, and thus, in the words of critic Keith Phipps, "its five square miles [13 square kilometers] have defined what decades of moviegoers think of when they imagine the American West."[

The area is part of the Colorado Plateau. The elevation of the valley floor ranges from 5,000 to 6,000 feet (1,500 to 1,800 m) above sea level. The floor is largely siltstone of the Cutler Group, or sand derived from it, deposited by the meandering rivers that carved the valley. The valley's vivid red color comes from iron oxide exposed in the weathered siltstone. The darker, blue-gray rocks in the valley get their color from manganese oxide.
The buttes are clearly stratified, with three principal layers. The lowest layer is the Organ Rock Shale, the middle is de Chelly Sandstone, and the top layer is the Moenkopi Formation capped by Shinarump Conglomerate. The valley includes large stone structures including the famed "Eye of the Sun".
Between 1945 and 1967, the southern extent of the Monument Upwarp was mined for uranium, which occurs in scattered areas of the Shinarump Conglomerate; vanadium and copper are associated with uranium in some deposits.[2]

Monument Valley is officially a large area that includes much of the area surrounding Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park, a Navajo Nation equivalent to a national park. Oljato, for example, is also within the area designated as Monument Valley.
Visitors may pay an access fee and drive through the park on a 17-mile (27 km) dirt road (a 2-3 hour trip). Parts of Monument Valley, such as Mystery Valley and Hunts Mesa, are accessible only by guided tour.
This is a Japanese proverb. It's means Beautiful women are often short-lived. Of course I don't think it's true, but In the case of flowers it may be so. Flower life is short, it may be beautiful because it is ephemeral.
In this picture, I express short-lived beauty that the Morning-Glory blooms summer morning but withers in the afternoon.

The other day I posted an old picture from 2009 showing the outfit I wore for my first time out in public so I thought I'd keep the theme running. This picture was taken the following year when I finally decided to say goodbye to my hairy legs by shaving them so I could wear natural tights and saying goodbye to my black bob wig and go for a long blonde look.
I remember when I looked at this picture all those years ago thinking "do you know what I may even be pretty". It got my pulse racing and made me all the more committed to exploring my feminine side in even greater detail.
.....well it goes on and on and on and on, on and on and on.

I took one of these with the normal slower shutter speed and this one. I like this one a little bit more because I can see the awsome amount of water coming down. I think Mr. Reed has one of these with a real unicorn in it.

Things are looking quite grim for Victoria Park after Hurricane Fiona, the gorge area in particular. Surprisingly, Joseph Howe and Waddell Falls areas are pretty much intact. I'll have to see what's going on in the upper park later, but my guess is that it's fared better than the lower park which is defined by its extensive gorge with steep slopes (once) populated by thick old growth Eastern Hemlock trees..

“There’s a smudge of white,” she said, as she brushed a finger along the right side of her mouth. I turned on the deck and suddenly realized she was talking to me. “Oh,” I responded. “Which side?” Reaching up to wipe my dirty face with one hand, while simultaneously shifting the weight of the camera into the other, and wondering what in God’s name I could have gotten on my face?
“No, not you! The bird!” she responded. “The bird has a smudge of white. It’s a Neotropic Cormorant, not a double crested, like all the rest.” I admit that I had not noticed the difference until it was pointed out, but proceeded to photograph the unusual Wakodahatchee attendee. These birds, generally of Central and South America, have been slowly making their way northward into the southern US. They are the only cormorant that regularly “dives” into the water after its food. So, a smudge of white isn’t their only defining characteristic. #NeotropicCormorant

Pei-yun 佩筠 worked with me on a client shoot for an athletic apparel company. She was not just a model in a jock's getup, but a former collegiate champion swimmer with eight gold medals to her name. She was a joy to work with, and selecting the best images is difficult because she did so well.

Dictionary may defines luck as being an unknown and unpredictable phenomenon that causes an event, good or ill, to result in a person’s life. I tend to disagree with this definition. I define luck as simply being the end result of consistent, persistent effort towards a meaningful goal.
Did not get the point. Let me make the things more clear. Imagine you’re holding a Gun and you’re pointing it at a target 100 yards down range. Unless you’re an expert marksman, there’s only a small statistical probability that you’re going to hit the bulls eye the first time. But if you keep firing and correcting your aim, the law of statistical probability dictates that eventually you must hit the bull’s-eye. Creating luck in your life obeys the same law of statistical probability—if you keep performing actions that lead towards your goal, eventually you are going to reach that goal. So luck in life is guaranteed, you just have to be willing to try enough times.
So let me boil down this into some simple rules.
Identify your target and keep firing & Believe that you are lucky.

Black-headed gulls are known for their seasonal "hoods" (dark brown heads in breeding season, replaced by dark spots behind the eyes in winter) and their tendency to form large, noisy colonies. They are also surprisingly adaptable, found in various habitats including city centers and farmland.
The dark hood is a temporary feature, appearing only during the breeding season to attract mates. It's more prominent and defined in males.
