The colour on these flowers are hard to name, but it's such a deep and luxurious hue, which contrasts beautifully with the sky :)

Fall is my favorite season by far!

I removed the infrared cut off filter from my D70 today and replaced it with a very deep red filter from Edmund Optics. There is a bunch of crap on the backside of the filter that I wasn't able to remove but if I keep the lens open it won't show.

I don't often go into a roll of film utterly unsure of what I will get, but here we are. And you know, I love these results; if you want that traditional Infrared look, then you certainly are getting it here. But the best part is that I achieved it using only a deep red filter, not a true IR filter! The images present deep, rich contrast and excellent sharpness, with reasonable control of visible grain.

Checking out the outside from the inside, looking over my window boxes. I've already started my annual fight with the squirrels. They think I plant these boxes just so they have a convenient place to hide their acorns!

This rhody is called Johnathan Shaw and is found at Homestead Park here in University Place, Washington.

I have been uploading photos of rhododendrons, other flowers and ferns that are in Homestead Park here in University Place, Washington, in an attempt to log what is actually to be found there. Eventually, my mother and I would like to catalog the different varieties for a brochure to be available to "Friends Of Homestead Park", a group of volunteers dedicated to maintaining and preserving the park. :-)
