This rhody is called Johnathan Shaw and is found at Homestead Park here in University Place, Washington.
I have been uploading photos of rhododendrons, other flowers and ferns that are in Homestead Park here in University Place, Washington, in an attempt to log what is actually to be found there. Eventually, my mother and I would like to catalog the different varieties for a brochure to be available to "Friends Of Homestead Park", a group of volunteers dedicated to maintaining and preserving the park. :-)

Of all sizes, shapes and colors have found a home in someone's yard! It's easier to use them in the landscape than to find another place for them and move them.

My son was once the vocalist of a band called Deep Red. He sang that very heavy metal stuff, with a deep deep voice, which I hardly could identify as his own, lest understand what he was singing/shouting about. A word here, a word there, was not enough to get the message. Yet, once I read the lyrics, which he wrote mainly, I realized the depth of feelings and emotions disguised behind that black, tough, heavy metal appearance.
Same clump of berries/seeds as before just shot with the sun to the side/behind me (and a different background because of the angle.) Again, SOOC other than cropped in. Easier to see detail in this shot and not such deep shadows.
