www.stvincent.edu | The Saint Vincent Athletics Department would like to welcome the family and friends of

the late Bernie Matthews, who coached the Bearcats for 33 years. Earlier today, a special Mass was held in Matthews’ memory. The Very Rev. Earl Henry, O.S.B., Prior of Saint Vincent Archabbey, then dedicated the Bernie Matthews Team Meeting Room in the Robert S. Carey Student Center.

Matthews’ family and former players are being recognized on the court at halftime of tonight’s game. Coach Matthews died on Feb. 1, 2015, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

The dedication of St. Therese of Carmel, May 4, 2007.

This provided me with an opportunity to try some high ISO shots (1600). Shot in Nikon raw mode. With the large CF cards available now there is little reason not to shoot raw. In this shot the lights are off so the color is somewhat cooler than the next shot. Tweaked slightly with Adobe Light Room.

Issoire 2013 - Vive l'entente cordiale!

What a wonderful week it was: glorious sunshine, friendly hosts and gastronomic delights on a daily basis - we were truly spoiled but made the most of all our opportunities. Highlights were definitely the rides and wild animals at Le Pal theme park, Vulcania's volcano simulators, having to slap on the factor 30 in Clermont and the sights and smells of the cheese factory - sense-ational!

We all owe a huge debt of gratitude to Miss Mastin for her dedication, organisation, time and efforts in making the trip such a success. Should the opportunity arise for a joint trip next year with Harrogate then I'm sure that we will assist in the planning and smooth running of operations.

Hopefully the friendships, which started blossoming during the home-leg in December, will continue to grow and students will further develop their language skills through future communications by whatever means.

Year 9: please start planning, saving and preparing for next year. Places will be limited so make your interest known by seeing your French teacher as soon as possible. Watch this space for the initial letter.

Main Market, Siem Reap, Cambodia

The hustle and bustle of Siem Reap's morning market may be nauseating for people, especially the claustrophobics but this is what I'm attracted to. Despite being on the tourist strip, locals still patronize the market for their daily food supplies. And if you are early enough, there are plenty of good food stalls around.
