During 2012 Reunions, about 200 alumni and friends gathered by the Connecticut River for shell christenings that honored the legacy of Peter Gardner, celebrated the spirit of the women's class of 1992, and cherished the memory of George Buesing '72.

the late Bernie Matthews, who coached the Bearcats for 33 years. Earlier today, a special Mass was held in Matthews’ memory. The Very Rev. Earl Henry, O.S.B., Prior of Saint Vincent Archabbey, then dedicated the Bernie Matthews Team Meeting Room in the Robert S. Carey Student Center.
Matthews’ family and former players are being recognized on the court at halftime of tonight’s game. Coach Matthews died on Feb. 1, 2015, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

James O'Neil was a longtime Friend of the Library and former Erie Library Advisory Board Member. Last night at the Board Meeting we dedicated a Norman Rockwell print, The Bookworm in his memory. His widow, Ginney and his family were in attendance.
