But as surely as this day comes round we are in the presence of the dead. For one hour, twice a year at least--at the regimental dinner, where the ghosts sit at table more numerous than the living, and on this day when we decorate their graves--the dead come back and live with us. ~Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr.

This week has been all about tiredness. The house has been ringing to the sound of mobiles, pagers and phones at all hours. To neighbours banging, to workmen up the road pretending they're doing something. I seem to have spent far too much time speaking to people back in the UK this week, worrying about money, about the flat I still co-own in Scotland, about friends with troubles, about my own. Time spent 'doing' when I should be sleeping.
If anyone, ever, tells you emigrating to the other side of the world is easy, kick them for me. It is about as big a test of determination and resolve as I can physically imagine anyone creating. Money literally pours from every hole you make, the job and photography contacts I was happily building vanish, your friends are as far away as they can be without coming back; I spent nearly five months without work. And every morning this week when I wake up begrudgingly and look in the mirror, my face tells me so.
The biggest test of doing 'this' isn't missing people, it's reminding yourself that it's the right thing when it's taken everything you have left.
But it is. It is the right thing.
This little girl had been playing games with me for the previous two hours never giving me a chance to get her in focus. After that amount of time my arms were aching so I gave up, closed the camera and went to the kitchen for a cup of coffee. When I came back to my camera twenty minutes later I saw Her ! ! ! how could I get things up and running without scaring her, no way just switch the camera on and hope I do. Well I didn't know if I had caught her or not, check the view screen, yes there she was but is she sharp ? yes ! so far so good, let's see on the iMac. Sometimes one gets lucky and 'Oh boy' I did ............
This image is totally as it was in the camera apart from putting into PS CS5 to put the frame and title in place and then back to Lightroom to upload to 'flickr'
P.S. Update to this image is very sad, the next day we realised that something was far wrong but gave them another 24hrs. The next day we opened the box up only to find what we had feared that only one chick out of nine had managed to fledge. What went wrong we don't know but Nature works in ways that at times is hard to understand....
The Fishman Center was dedicated on April 18, 2015, with remarks by President John Roush, Head Baseball Coach Mike Pritchard, Trey Litsey ’15 and Mark Fishman. A cookout was held after the dedication and Mark Fishman threw out the ceremonial first pitch to his son Cameron Fishman ’12.
The 3,000-square-foot facility has been constructed directly behind the scoreboard in left field and allows the Colonels to work on a variety of player development activities. The facility is named after Mark Fishman, lead donor on the project and father of a recent Centre graduate and baseball player, Cameron.
The building includes turf, heat and air, electricity, a top-of-the-line netting system and two garage doors that can allow for natural light and fresh air.
This is a dedication to 1 of my most wonderful friends. We lost contact but he helped me through a very difficult period of my life n offered support in every way. All my friends at that time seemed God sent so i labeled each of them my angels.
Heres an entry on him n my other friends
