Christopher Reich signing "Rules of Deception" at Warwick's - July 15, 2008

What an amazing place! Much of Puget Sound's tidal movement exchanges with the Strait of Juan de Fuca through this 100m notch four times daily. Thousands of cubic meters of water say hello and goodbye to this scenic gem with every passing moment. Just something to give you perspective, no swimming!

This is just one of the many breathtaking views from the bridge at Deception Pass State Park (in the NW corner of Washington State, just south of Anacortes). This shot is looking southwest, and the bright spot in the top left corner is the sun trying desperately (but with very little success) to break through the fast-approaching stormclouds.
