Northern 156480 has just arrived at Newcastle platform empty stock (5W43) from Heaton depot and will form 2W43, 14:30 Newcastle – Nunthorpe, 16th December 2016.
The Nottingham NET Tram system operates fifteen Bombardier five segment articulated Incentro trams built at Derby in 2002/03 and twenty two Alstom Citadis 302 five segment articulated trams built in 2013/14 for the Phase 2 system expansion. It seems that it is the Bombardier Incentro trams that receive any promotional liveries and 211 has lost its rather ironic Alstom promotional light blue livery for this green/purple/blue “deliveroo” livery. 211 stands in the Station Street tram stop on the 21st December 2017.

I wasn't carrying a macro lens today (it's December for goodness' sake!) so I had to shoot this unexpected hoverfly with the big tele-zoom. Luckily it focuses pretty close and the light was good. It's one of a group of similar-looking hoverflies in the Syrphidae family, either Epistrophe or Syrphus sp.
It's always a pleasure to find a rose blooming in the garden in the depths of December. I suspect the hard frosts of the past few days will have put an end to them now. Raindrops on petals have become something of a trope with all the rain we've also had.
the problem with doing a drawing every day for a month is that some days you're pretty busy. for example, on december 12 i worked 9-5, then had to walk home, get ready for our work night out, head back down at 7 & do the night out thing. this drawing is the result of realising it's 11:45pm, & that i still haven't drawn anything, i've had a few beers & my coworker has a shoe i might like to draw. the end.
