With some of the Boxing Day snow still on the ground Freightliner 66518 heads south along the Erewash Valley at Trowell Junction working 6M49 Barrow Hill – Rugeley Power Station loaded coal train. 30th December 2014.
This view is more south than west. It is outside my work and it is the first time I have noticed the sky so pink in this view. I am guessing it because the sun appears at a different angle at this time of year and we don't get to see it on many days!
Sympetrum corruptum - Variegated Meadowhawk
After weeks of seeing nothing a couple of meadowhawks appeared in the yard yesterday. I wonder if they were pushed this way by the cold, but dry, front that is currently passing over the area. Cannot see how they can hang around with day time temperatures in the low 50s and upper 20s at night so I suspect this is the last of the ode activity for the year.
I went for a walk today through the garden at the Paso Robles Inn . This is the oldest and most historic hotel in town. a great place to stay, dine, or photograph! PR_Inn
