My new (to me) dressing table. It adds a real girly feel to my bedroom, though I do need to get some lights to go around the mirror!

A wonderful night of worlds colliding! Our friend Jenny came to visit Hull for the first time, and on the Sunday niight I went out with Jenny, Gemma and my Mum to The Star.
I am so humbled to have the amazing support and love that I do, and it is really really special to be able to experience nights like this. Words really can't describe what this means to me.

A night at home with my awesome and gorgeous mate Sally. It was a really big night for me - the first time Sally had met me as Emily. As you can see, we had a lovely time!

The Eurasian bullfinch, common bullfinch or bullfinch (Pyrrhula pyrrhula) is a small passerine bird in the finch family, Fringillidae. In Anglophone Europe it is known simply as the bullfinch, as it is the original bird to bear the name bullfinch.
The Eurasian bullfinch is a bulky bull-headed bird. The upper parts are grey; the flight feathers and short thick bill are black; as are the cap and face in adults (they are greyish-brown in juveniles), and the white rump and wing bars are striking in flight. The adult male has red underparts, but females and young birds have grey-buff underparts. It moults between July and October, but males do not have the duller autumn plumage that is typical of some other finches. The song of this unobtrusive bird contains fluted whistles, and is often described as 'mournful'.
I pretend that sewing the hems freehand and without markings gives my napkins a personal touch.
In reality, I've decided that ironing is enough work already. Why add an extra step?
These were taken with a Canon Canonet QL17 GIII that I found in a bin at a Goodwill outlet store and paid about $2, including a base and canon canolite d flash. The light meter is broken, and I have no experience whatsoever with film cameras, so using this manually was a bit of a challenge/adventure. I like the results and I can't wait to go shoot with it again.

In order to obtain that gorgeous Christmas sweater, I had to order some other stuff from Citizen Brick as well. Which has ended up in this figbarf for now - a very strange group of people, from left to right:
Pete, all muscles, short fuse. Was hit over the head with a bottle at some point during Christmas, hence the wound on his forehead.
Joe, bothany enthusiast. Can't remember what he did for Christmas.
Odin, Norwegian black metal enthusiast. Did not celebrate Christmas, obviously, but treated himself to a new Thor's Hammer necklace nevertheless.
Josh, super fond of Christmas, particularly the carols. Unfortunately, he's the only one in the picture who enjoys carols. Which explains the duct tape.
Gino, in his finest pinstriped Italian suit. Lost an eye in a game of poker back in '92. Got a new one for Christmas, but it was second-hand. Employs Pete and the guy on the far left:
Freddie - or Phhrdrd, as he pronounces it, due to the amount of metal stuck through his facial features. Has more attachment points in his face than your average Christmas tree. Suffers from magnetophobia.
And then there's Hans, who is a narcoleptic. I probably don't need to explain who that is.
Oh, and those babies? I have no explanation for that.
