Catching up after a couple of big deadlines (done and done!)

This is basically what i've been wearing out and about in the snow every day for my trip to the Cotswolds. I'm off to Berlin on Thursday so i think i'll be sticking to this combo for a few more days yet.
Light rain, night. I was in a hurry for somewhere, but I couldn't resist to take a photo or two. I've spent around 5-10 minutes under the rain, trying to get this shot. By the way, I love this kind of bokeh - the Pentax SMC 50mm f/1.4 produces them nicely.

Rue Mallet-Stevens is a small housing development built from 1926 onwards to the design of Robert Mallet-Stevens for whom the street is named. There are five buildings in total, including one where the architect himself lived (number 12).
Number 10 was the home and studio of sculptors Joel and Jean Martel. Pianist, Mme. Reifenberg lived at number 8, Daniel Dreyfus at number 7 and Mme Allatini at numbers 3/5. At the end of the street, number 1 is the caretaker's cottage.
"Secret Paris" explains that "the design of each of the buildings depends on the juxtaposition of smooth sided white cubes in terraces, recesses and towers and jutting roofs". Mallet-Stevens himself said "the architect sculpts one single massive block: a house". The buildings were listed in 1975 but unfortunately this was to late to protect the furniture and fittings, also designed by Mallet-Stevens, carrying on the total design tradition of his predecessors such as Hoffman and Loos.
Today the buildings are private residences.
Early this morning I did a short, 20 mile ride to shake down the Sparrow. Wow! This climbs like a goat and is stiffer than any of my other bikes ascending - I think it's partly the beefy chainstays, partly the generous fork rake and definitely those very stout wheels. I think this will become a favorite rider this spring and summer, too.
Stopped on the way home for a coffee and a blueberry muffin. I think I deserved it :) Wasn't all that cold, and only a little wet. A nice ride!

This photo was taken just as the western sky began to lighting in the predawn. A few stars are visible around the moon. I also shot two timelapse sequences of the moon.
Whenever I pass by a homeless person, I wonder what really happened in that person's life. I give what I can afford, could even be a smile, a prayer, or a little of my time just talking to him/her. .......

Today I met up with a few of the PAD girls for lunch and snaps. The rain was annoying but didn't stop us. This is Carnaby Street - one of London's coolest shopping areas and every year they have mad Christmas decorations and this year they had huge inflatable snowmen. Looked more like a scene from Ghostbusters...
We also saw the annual Santa Lash crawl. Two teams one starting in SE1 and the other in W1 drinking their way to Leicester Sq.... Noodles, more and more santas
