PERSONAL FUN FACT: I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by this outfit. In photos it looked simple, yet striking all the same. I didn't anticipate that I would be impressed by the quality. Once it arrived in the mail, I was very pleased. Firstly, these boots are gorgeous. It's hard to tell in photos, but they are glittery (not the kind that flakes off either). They remind me of fancier version of my childhood Red Vinyl Outfit boots. The blue socks are an interesting pop of color. Many times, socks aren't included with Truly Me fashions. The hat is the best quality piece. It's very thick and structured. It was hard to photograph in a way so you could see all the details (you get a better view on the photo of the doll modeling it). Then there is the charming, quirky dress. It reminds me of a nutcracker, or Study Abroad Sasha. The gold buttons and removable belt add a little extra pizzazz. My sister was equally as blown away by this when was delivered. In fact, this was one of our favorite Christmas 2024 purchases!

The Canopied Pew is rather difficult to date but is thought to have been erected about 1712. It was the Lisle family pew but it would not have been possible for Dame Alice Lisle to have used it as she was executed in 1685. There are no references tobe found about this pew in the Churchwardens' account books.
The pew is 10'2" long and about 7'6" wide. It is made of oak and walnut but the roof, which is of wall panelling, was of a later date. It must be considered that the parts in oak are probably older than the rest. Inside the door of the pew is written "Covered Novr. 18th, 1786, by John Cranston, Ringwood. This pew covered Aug. 9th, 1823, John Cranston Junior." The form of Cranston was in Ringwood for manyyears and produced some very fine work, which appears in antique markets from time to time.
There is evidence that the pew was situated, in 1747, at the west end of the church and at a later date was moved to the south-east corner of the nave; and, at a still later date, the 2nd Earl of Normanton had it moved to the south west corner and then, in 1883, it was placed in its present position. When this last move was made the north wall was altered and the two small lancets that light the pew were unbricked.
