August 3, 2015 - Just a trio of mismatched organic eggs that made me smile and evoked happy childhood memories.
November 25, 2015 - My cold is back, either that or it invited a friend to take its place as the previous occupant was vacating.
So far it doesn't seem to be the hacking cough variant, seems more like the gooey nose variety.
I can handle that.
December 10, 2015 - A temporary break in the weather provided downright balmy conditions and a brief window to take in a moment for a photo across the water to Bella Bella, from the Coast Guard station at old Bella Bella on Denny Island where I am staying.
I'm grateful because we have been transiting the channel, twice a day, every day this week. We've only been bounced around once.
Pretty good luck considering it's the second week of December.
December 30, 2015 - Another glorious day in Vancouver.
Today we went to the other side of the water and looked back towards the mountains, towards the city of Vancouver, and towards the North Shore.
The splendid Art Deco house of Villa Marina in Llandudno, seen here in the snow in 2010. Villa Marina was designed by Harry Weedon, famous for designing many of the art deco ODEON Cinemas around the UK.

December 1, 2015 - Looking up seems very similar in Portland. I could be in Vancouver's Gastown here.

More sea pinks. I like them. They are everywhere. So therefore they should also be on Flickr!
December 22, 2015 - Christmas brings light displays on houses and in trees....but it also brings lots of brake lights and traffic lights too. Everyone gets stupid on the roads at this time of year.
October 15, 2015 - It's funny how we use brand names instead of item descriptor, maybe we do it more here in Canada, I'm not sure.
Had one good day this weekend, so took a little drive around the area. This is Anderson Reservoir. Even with all the rain it is not full, as it is only allowed to hit 54% of capacity. As it has been determined that there is a chance it could fail in a nearby earthquake (@ 7.2) that would send a wall of water 35ft high that could hit the town of Morgan Hill within 14 minutes.
But I have to say the view of the South Valley is fantastic from the top of the dam.
Today I had a much needed run at the beautiful Savill Garden to give me an energy boost in the middle of a busy day.

HFF!
It's an odd fence this one, it's made up of posts put in the ground very close together so there's no horizontals. I don't know if that still makes it a fence?
Have a great weekend everyone (UK weather is looking to be wonderful again).
I know...another pink flower. Pink is not my favorite color, but when it is so bold, bright and vibrant, I can't resist it.
September 23, 2015 - In all of the years I have been travelling on Vancouver Island, and particularly to the West Coast of the Island, I have never seen a Roosevelt elk. Until today.
September 20, 2015 - Kirk's back is still bothering him so the hot water bottle has been getting a workout. But when one gets up and walks away from something warm, and when one lives with cats....
A Drake Mallard appears to be walking on water , with the Hen giving him the look all females give.

RIP 688 CX09 BFZ, 10th July 2019.
Following the news that this Bangor allocated Optare Solo M950SL had suffered a fateful fire whilst operating from the Llandudno outstation on route 26 to the Great Orme Summit. A quick scan into some unsorted photos from September 2014 shows it in happier times, having just crossed the Menai Bridge from the Isle of Anglesey, unusually operating on route 62 from Amlwch, the signs that Autumn is around the corner can be seen by the glow on the Horse Chestnut tree.
688 was part of the investment of a batch of new Solos 681 to 697 in 2009 for Bangor services. Two quickly moved on to Rhyl (later returning a few years later) whilst some over the years at Aberystwyth, later moving to Wrexham and one to Chester, 688 was one that remained at Bangor for it's whole service life. Here we find it in a fresh application of the revised 'interurban' fleet livery, one of the first of the batch to gain it, 688 also had the distinction of been route branded for the short lived 32 Bangor / Caernarfon - Porthmadog for a short time.

November 21, 2015 - We went to the Eastside Culture Crawl for the first time today. How have we missed this local art event for so many years!?!

November 18, 2015 - Starting to think about Christmas baking...do you like my gingerbread men cookie cutters?
August 31, 2015 - It's been a dark and dreary few days, in a few ways. First it was dark for a couple of days because the windstorm knocked out the power everywhere, and then the rains hit today and drenched the coast with badly needed moisture. A LOT of moisture!!
