HFF!

I miss the snow...it's mostly wet and windy here. Hopefully I can get round to catching up on things this weekend.

June 19, 2015 - Remember the days when every photograph was precious because of the film medium?

Autumn colours are beginning to show :)

New building on the island, next to the Pilots Cottages. Obviously designed to look original but is only being put together now. Anyone in Flickr world know anything about this?

Just been told there is to be a reality TV programme being filmed there in September.

The name Llanddwyn means "The church of St. Dwynwen". She is the Welsh patron saint of lovers, making her the Welsh equivalent of St. Valentine, so could it be the Welsh version of Love Island?

Brownsea Island

October 24, 2015 - Today was work party day down at the Yacht Club. It's a day when members have the opportunity to put hours into maintenance jobs the Club needs done. Luckily it was a rather nice day for late October, so being outdoors wasn't really a chore.

August 20, 2015 - Today involved a trip to Port Alberni and back and though I usually ferry over, I flew this time as I had a ride from Nanaimo. I love Vancouver, particularly from the air. It's such a beautiful city perched on the water as it is.

Not in RED!!!

I love to read. Whether it be an actual book, or on my Kindle. (which has been the norm for the last six months or so since I got it.) I have seen a lot of this type of photo done before and have always wanted to do one; but didn't want to be a copycat. I shot a ton of photos before I changed background colors in my lightbox. This was the one hands down!! Happy Valentine's Day!!

Didn't expect to get into print with this one ! Happy Bunny,

Andrew and Nigel did not get into the photo !

December 31, 2015 - No fanfare, no fireworks, no resolutions, just a quiet goodbye to 2015 and my fourth 365 Project.

If you took some time to look at any of my photos, if you actually read any of my mental wanderings and found anything of interest in there, well then I thank you.

Wishing everyone a very Happy 2016, may it bring grand new adventures to all.

115 Photos in 2015 - 15. The Number 2015 (photo must show in numerals or words the number 2015)

Taken around 11pm. i knew this was here after doing a bit of research but seeing it for the first time at night appear out of the darkness was very creepy. it was a 2 mile walk from where i was camping and only took me about 40min. The walk was spooky enough with not a soul in sight. BUT when i setup for this shot i heard the gate rattle that i'd just come through, so i waited to see if someone was coming and then heard a rustle in bushes. i guessed it was a fox as there sheep nearby. What i wasnt expecting was about 30 sheep running towards me on the narrow path to the right on this photo. i shouted "nooo not this way" and to be fair they headed back! I guess the fox got amongst them and they all bolted!

Rhiwddolion, near Betws y Coed , was once a quarrying community with its own school and chapel, accommodation for quarrymen, and a number of small farms, but when the quarrying industry collapsed it became depopulated.

Some of the buildings date back to the 16th century, but by the 18th century the village was thriving.

However, less than 100 years later, the mines and quarries had closed, and families started the leave the remote area to find work.

Three of the buildings in the old hamlet - Ty Capel , Ty Coch and Ty Uchaf - have been restored by The Landmark Trust .

Having a meh kind of day today but hey, at least I posted something to Flickr!

October 9, 2015 - A co-worker nudged me the other day and suggested I hop the first ferry to Nanaimo, where she would pick me up, for a quick trip out to one of the facilities I support on the outer coast. I mulled it over, and given that my brother was heading home in the morning and I needed something to occupy me and get me back into motion, I agreed.

Nasty storms are approaching the coast and it's the Friday before the long weekend so the ferries are overloaded and the home trip was looking to be potentially problematic, but it was good to do something productive.

Mother Nature gave quite the morning show part way across the strait.

December 29, 2015 - The year is almost done and as it comes to a close, as usual, I tend to get a bit reflective on what the past year has brought, and what might transpire in the coming one.

Coming back from Harlech today I stopped at Cadair Idris Nature Reserve for a walk with my camera hoping to achieve some autumnal slow motion shots with the dying light on the streams. All of a sudden I was blessed with this stunning sky as the sun was setting in the west which completely sidetracked me from my original purpose!!

October 26, 2015 - I’m really not sick often, but the one thing I can usually count on is a cold once a year, usually either in October or February.

My cold remedy is hot water with whiskey or rum, lemon, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and a pinch of cayenne.

Oh, and a cat.

What's your cold remedy?

HFF!

Not only did I nearly forget to post a photo today but I forgot that it was Fench Friday! How could I? Fortunately I had already prepared a fence photo for such an occasion.

December 1, 2015 - Today was a morning of wrapping up the workshop followed by a couple of flights to get home. The flight from Bella Bella to Campbell River was completely in the clouds, with nothing to look at but the inside of a pillowcase.

But the flight from Campbell River to Vancouver was spectacular!
