HFF!

This will most likely be my last post before I fly out to San Francisco, woo! Heading to Heathrow tomorrow for a glamourous night in a Travelodge watching Doctor Who ;)

December 26, 2015 - For Christmas, my brother handmade a cedar frame and put this photo of our Dad in it, it brought me to tears when I opened it yesterday…

I love this image, it seems that Dad, as a little boy, is on the threshold of some great adventure.... (circa. ~1942)

Today would have been Dad’s 77th Birthday.

Dad, you instilled a love of the water in me, I’m not sure I realized that until just now though.

I’ll miss you, always.

December 15, 2015 - We finally got the tree set up the other night, too much travelling, too many other things on the go, much later than usual.

I'm still pretty sure that I have the ugliest tree topper of anyone I know, but it also comes with so many family memories.

November 28, 2015 - I remember loving recess when I was in elementary school. We used to rush outside and play marbles and steelies.

I found a small handful of old marbles in a box and it sent me down a happy little memory lane.

The warm days and no rain are being felt on the trail.

July 21, 2015 - I love Gerbera daisies, I just wish they lasted longer.

Vines are turning colors and grapes are in.

Apr.29_Up the Lazy Creek - Beautiful spring day and still water. Miner's Ravine Trail.

September 27, 2015 - A tiny little clump of mushrooms growing from a post at Porteau Cove.

November 24, 2015 - Loki must be near me at all costs....so when I sit in the chair in the office, this is where he likes to sit.

Feet at my shoulder height, head above mine, so he can sit and stare at me, and tap me on the shoulder every so often to remind me that he requires love on a constant and regular basis.

Winter Creek Crossing - - Shot from the bridge crossing the creek on my bike ride.

December 16, 2015 - Today was a particularly spectacular day, so I made the effort to get out of the office for a few minutes and walk down to the waterfront a few blocks away to appreciate the view from my work side towards my home side.

I love that I live a little bit up the base of those mountains over there; that's home.

I love that :)

Up early this morning awaiting sunrise and captured the predawn planets amplified by the brightness of the moon! Brightest one is Venus. Mars just next to it. Jupiter – second-brightest – above Venus.

Here at Llandudno Junction as we see the abandoned close down Arriva depot as it was closed for 4 years in February 2013. Sadly the depot and the rest of the buildings will be demolished as they are planing to build a new supermarket, Lidl. 14/09/17

HFF!

I had nearly forgotten Fence Friday! I'm going to have to re-learn the days of the week Flickr style.

Wandered off the trail to this secluded spot along Miners Ravine.

November 26, 2015 - Once upon a time peanuts were a nice, safe, snack.

Now if you eat them and shake someone's hand you might kill them.

How did we get here?

December 4, 2015 - Clearly I have a thing for the Lumix series of cameras.... and am somewhat brand loyal.

On the right is the newest family member, though it was a challenge to find given that it was discontinued a couple of years ago.

Fantastic cameras, all of them.

Our Daily Challenge~ Vivid

Wall*E enjoys the breeze in his fur when going on a car ride. All the scents he gets along the journey give him a vivid sense of what is going on!

This is a stretch of the challenge topic, but I liked this pic so much I had to post itI hate to keep saying it... But view on BLACK!

I'm sure most people suspected my insides looked like this anyway.

December 14, 2015 - When I was little I loved being taken to the park to go sledding. This little Christmas ornament always reminds me of those winters, my parents, and the fun we had on the hills.

December 7, 2015 - Back in the air again, I'm hoping it's the last work trip this year.

While it was pouring rain on the ground, one nice thing about flying is that you can get above the weather and still experience a relatively pretty sunrise.

December 17, 2015 - I grew up on 5-pin bowling, but I sucked at it. I haven't gotten any better in all those years that I haven't played it. But it's still fun anyway.

A group from my office took a couple of hours this afternoon to head up to the Commodore Bowling Lanes and engage in a little competition. None of us play well, and that makes it even more fun ;)

There was some talk about seeing northern lights in Wales last night, however we were not so lucky.. Silly to waste such a clear evening though!! Here is a Star trail looking down Dysynni valley!

I'd love to put a big wreath on this barn at Christmas.

The Grade II Listed Penmaenpool toll bridge, a wooden toll bridge built in 1868 by the Penmaenpool bridge company to replace the then ferry crossing over the Afon Mawddach. It is one of very few surviving wooden toll bridges still in operation. In Penmaenpool, Gwynedd, Wales.

The Penmaenpool bridge company originally rented the roadway for £10 per annum from the Hengwrt estate. Tickets were adopted on 1st March 1937 and the bridge is still in use today. The toll booth was added around 1900.

On July 22 1966 the bridge was the scene of one of the countries worst ever pleasure boat disasters. The Prince of Wales, was on a two-hour return trip from Barmouth to Penmaenpool, when it hit the Penmaenpool toll bridge and sank with the loss of 15 lives.

Early Morning on Kechemak Bay - Leaving the the Homer Harbor for a day of fishing.

November 4, 2015 - The only things in this home that are level are those that have been renovated/installed in the past two years since we bought it.

We live in the crooked house. Sixty five years will do that. :)

November 6, 2015 - Today seemed like a bit of a whirlwind. We had Dad's Celebration of Life today; we held it down at the Yacht Club Kirk and I belong to, but before the family and friends arrived we had a short period of calm. I used the little breather to catch a quick shot across the boat sheds and out to the harbour where the most massive container ship I've ever seen has sat for a few days, looming over absolutely everything in the Inlet.
