The snowpocalypse which has kept me from commuting to work the past couple of days also graced my eaves with icicles. Here is one of my favorite shots.
great news-- PicMonkey now has a collage/mosaic option-- actually several nice ones. since this album had 36 pics, i couldn't use it but i think i will try it out another time. the mosaic was made by bighugelabs and then i added the frame and text in PicMonkey......
there are the 31 pics for the month and then a couple of "also rans" to round it out.

Same basic setup as this one. I'll post a setup photo of that tomorrow (or whenever I get around to it). Let me assure you, it's the poor girl's way. Some of the things I used was a napkin, tape, aluminum foil, a cardboard box, a lamp, my tripod, and my flash. Oh and a box of taco shells. Gotta have those, they held my lamp up, haha! I personally like the other one better, but I suppose I'll keep trying until I can get a macro lens! My top three lenses that I want is a Canon 100mm macro, a Tokina 11-16mm, and a Tamron 17-50mm. I have done extensive research on those lenses. I would love some L lenses, but I'll get them hopefully eventually! I also want some actual lighting, so if anyone has any suggestions on what to get (preferably kind of inexpensive as I'm on a budget), I'd be much obliged. I wish I was a billionaire because I'd be spending all of my money on camera equipment, basically.

this series is better that the other ones, I just corrected my mistake by focusing and they seems to be really sharp.

I am having a lot of fun with my copy of Mess: The Manual of Accidents and Mistakes
These pages were created with liquid watercolor inks. I dripped the ink on the pages and then tilted the book to let the ink run. I then blew air through a straw to encourage the ink to spread further.
I love the way this project turned out ... the ink looks a bit like insects or deep undersea creatures.

Today was bath day for Sadie and she was not too thrilled.
Her eyes look strange by the flash; her right eye does not reflect the light of a flash.
This was shot for a newspaper article on utilities.

Automatic watering timer connected to drip irrigation. The two filter-looking things allow me to heap some water-soluable fertilizer in there for auto-fertilizing too. The one on the left goes to the roses, and the one on the right goes to the hops.
Under construction, and under wraps: 24 taps placed in tall beverage coolers. Each cooler can hold up to 4 full-size kegs (13.2 or 15.5 gallons) and 8 sixtels (5.16 gallons). Mason jars under each drip pan will catch foam and overflow. AS the kegs are directly behind the taps, waste should be minimal.
