Beloperone drip is an evergreen tropical shrub native to Mexico.

The cliffs at Sunset Cliffs remind me of giant drip sand castles that I used to make as a kid.

This Red-shouldered Hawk was all wet, thanks to plunging into the water to catch a fish which it had eaten. Here it perches on a branch next to that interesting hanging vegetation that I saw a lot of in Florida.

The range of ideas on which the planning of these gardens is based appeals to an increasing number of people. Initially, these gardens were private but since 1997 they have been open to the public.

Drip Gorge Walk - amazing

A black-bellied plover in late afternoon light.

We would normally in Florida right now, but given everything that is going on, we are now slated to be there in November. I do miss walking the beach with my bride, but we can wait.

The good news is Spring is finally here and we are starting to see some new arrivals at our feeders. We have a single male western tanager that has been here for about a week now. Hopefully his friends will show up soon. In addition, a little male lazuli bunting was here yesterday. And the hummingbirds are here in force!

A drop of water splashes into a colorful puddle.

For Macro Mondays "Drips, drops and splashes" theme. Taken with an off camera flash to stop the motion. This sort of thing is all about timing and it isn't easy to get it right. Probably took 700 shots and only about 20 were anywhere near interesting.

This little Squirrel had just had a long drink from the water bowl.

The light was bouncing off the bowl and hitting his chin.
