IKEA curtain printed drippy. I cut the stencil into a roll of mylar and then used a tempoary adhesive spray to stick it on, then stencil rolled all over the durn thing. It turns out the curtain fabric is really, uh, porous? Low thread count or something, large holes. I had to apply paint twice.
Wanted to freeze the droplet but just couldn't get it done. Oh well, I still like the image even if it took me many attempts to find a suitable angle of interest. I finally had the idea to put a mirror behind it to catch the reflection.

Fun part. Suck up the Tomato base WITHOUT the air bubbles( like I did), because the bubbly ones turn white and float like scum. Once those were out of the way, it was fun times. "Drip drip drip...". the Tomato drip turned into round pearls immediately after they hit the Calcium Chloride water. Allow them to 'Cook' in the bath for 30 seconds, then take them out.
“I held a moment in my hand, brilliant as a star, fragile as a flower, a tiny sliver of one hour. I dripped it carelessly, Ah! I didn't know, I held opportunity.”
~ Hazel Lee ~
Last time I did this I got a pretty good shot - today, not so much! Picked the wrong day really, at home with a lively toddler and grumpy, teething baby.
And I'd left the ISO at 400 which didn't help!
Ah well. I like the colours and shapes, just a shame about the noise and lack of accurate focus!
Marginally better on black

With a bit of free time this evening and a new macro filter I thought I'd have another go at some water drip photography. I think I have this out of my system now. :)
I typically upload in small sets - don't just look at the latest one in my photostream as you might be missing something you'll like more.... and your comments are ALWAYS welcome :)
After finishing my 365 for tonight, I was in the bathroom already so I decided to play with the water and taking shots of drips and water. No reason behind these shots other than having a bit of fun and experimenting. These are the best of the bunch. Some of these have various photo editing filters applied to them such as Orton, level adjustments, saturation bumps, etc.
Exceptional; roughly 10 inches long! In my lifetime, this was molten. In the bottom of Kilauea Iki, west side
Dozens of photos later, I finally have one I am (nearly) happy with. Before I try this again I will be sure to clean the taps though!
Achievement for the scavenger hunt, because for once I kept going until I got the picture I had in my head, instead of settling for something that was just ok.
A tradition in the Warren household is to burn one drip candle each year on the same bottle of chianti.
This time I was trying with some pictures in the background.

Nice afternoon with old chums Tone and Pene who came for light lunch and some of Archie's delicious carrot cake. Played a silly game of party poppers and Dixit ( like Brexit but funnier !). The rain catching drip cups gift was well timed but the rain stopped so Hazel had to go into the garden to water them with an implement.
