It's a knit coaster! The Drip coaster, to be precise. =) This is a perfect way to use leftover sock yarn. It's a quick, fun, and useful knit! I love it!
I'm going to make another one to use at work, because I always bring in my Starbucks Frappuccinos that drip all over my desk. This is perfect! =)
I opted to go fringeless, as I think this looks really cute by itself. I might make another one with fringe later, though.
The yarn is leftover Vesper sock yarn (from my Jaywalkers). I doubled the yarn and matched it up so that it would keep the striping. Cool! =D
Drip/flipped. Not telling you what it is, or whats it dripping off of. I did bounce the flash off camera though, you can know that much.
I tried my hand at catching water drops tonight. After 318 shots I got several that were passable, but there were four that really stood out!
I used an external flash aimed at a blue paper behind the droplets with no direct flash on the water.
I set my shutter speed to .250 seconds, same as the camera's sync speed for flash. I tried f/8 to f/11 to get as much DOF as I could. ISO set to 200.
External flash was set to 1/64 of full power.
Stunning DBS!

I watered this calle lilly yesterday, and this morning saw drips on each flower....it must be because I watered it too much? I love the color of this variety: red to orange to yellow to green.....
Henry has a fixation on water. He drinks from the faucet, will walk into the shower if one leaves the door open, routinely soaks his head when I am brushing my teeth and loves to swat at drips from the faucet. Henry's predecessor, Harry, Lived to be 15 and could not stand getting his feet wet. Go Figure!
Credit: Carles Sanchis Ibor. Drip is only used in dry years in almond trees, once or twice in summer.. So some farmers hang the dripper lines to use their ploughs, and only place it on the ground when they need to irrigate. Vinalopó Valley; Biar, Alicante, Spain. 2006.

this series is better that the other ones, I just corrected my mistake by focusing and they seems to be really sharp.
Drops are Ink, Glycirin 50% and water 50%
