Okay, it's time to take care of the old fixtures in the shower. The slow drip has been measured at half a gallon a day.

At least until I actually do it, I will collect the water for the garden.

My second effort at this, more difficult than it looks! I managed to capture crowns and blobs but the contrast in the ripples make this one my fave.

I am changing all of my drip irrigation to Netafim in my intensely planted beds. I am burying it 2-3 inches deep in this new bed where I will grow daylilies and perrenial plants. The water will go directly to the root zone causing the plant roots to go deeper into cooler soil - important in the desert. I will lay it on the surface of the soil in my veggie beds so I can see it - I don't want to damage it while planting and fertilizing.

I have this black soil especially blended for me by a local soils company, they will make it up for you, too. Send me an email, gardeningnewsletter@lvcoxmail.com, and I'll give you their contact info. This Tomato Lady Soil, named for me, is rich in organics and humic acid and it is easy for me to lift and divide my daylilys, iris and bulbs. I used to make compost - got too old to turn the pile - buying it is cheaper and less work for me.

I found a box of drip irrigation parts that I bought years ago. I tried to install it, but it just would work right and the hoses kept blowing apart from the connection... so I abandoned the installation...

Dripper!!!!

I dripped candle wax, zombie black blood, and black acrylic paint on the page, then closed the book to create a print.

The candle wax dried clear, but you can see the spots where the black blood (which looks blue) didn't absorb into the paper.

I got the zombie black blood capsules on clearance. I only used one capsule, and I really like the blue colour, but the stuff like never dries. I didn't want to use heat on it; air drying took about a week.

Well, this isn't my forte - but I was playing around with dripping water today (working around a curious cat - holding a flashlight in one hand for lighting!) and this is the best one I got. I really need some lighting! And more lenses! And a better tripod! And - just dreaming!

ND is finally starting to drip :)

Yesterday was my last day of school. I was walking home when this fantastic thunderstorm broke, and ended up sloshing through Providence for around twenty minutes before I got home. Then I grabbed my camera and took some pictures. There was this really nice silvery light outside, but in this picture it's kind of filtering through some red leaves.
