Yay! Today, I finished knitting this little dress for a Barbie doll. I used the free online pattern called "Summer Sorbet Dress for Barbie.
If you buy this and have plates and bowls that match it and send me pictures of them together, I will laugh really hard and admire you forever.
Saturated red-orange, turquoise and yellow-orange dress with curved empire waist, gentle v-neck, long sleeves with flared cuffs, and a big ruffle around the bottom.
It's made of waffly cotton and modal but is quite light weight.
I’m a huge fan of “wardrobe multitaskers”, for instance wearing a skirt as a dress, I wanted to have a bash at creating a NYE worthy look by using this very principle.
I read somewhere that pleats are going to be quite trendy next season, so I decided to use two vintage 80s pleated skirts with elasticised waistbands.
To create the hitched up, puffy look I’ve used elastic from the haberdashery & then cinched the creation with a belt.

The fabric is not too good. I've worn it twice and it has pilled all over. Looks about 5 years old all ready. Such a shame...
I was going to add pockets and take it in around the chest but probably won't now the fabric has pilled.
But I still love it!!
I refashioned the Birthday Party Dress into a tunic with cap sleeves. I have had this fabric in my stash for a while and I don't remember what it is. I paired the top with the Puppet Show Shorts.
