It´s my second try to make a dress for Lati Yellow and I like it much better than the first one.

Baby dress made with my Peacock Drops fabric.

The fabric is available here on Spoonflower.

The dress is available for sale in my shop.

Trying on the dress I'm planning to wear for my mom's 60th birthday party with accessories and trying to figure which shoes to wear. I'm leaning towards the pumps (which are actually dark teal patent and not black).

A variation of my simple realpuki dress with fancy vintage trim - can't for the life of me remember what that thread insertion method is called - it's too simple so it's not in my embriodery book. I got this trim with the other really sheer stuff (someone suggested could be silk viole instead of cotton or some sort of mix) which I had been using for these dresses.

So instead of focusing, I'm messing about with realpuki sewing. I have a bunch of Blythe Petite patterns which I'm altering for this size - I started when I first got her but you know how life is... I have underpants (really they look like tight boxers which I made when I first got her) and a muslin dress with ink stains all over (thank you, fraycheck) which I made yesterday.

This dress was the final piece for a project on what was in the news at the time, so I based the top half on serious news articles such as the revolution in Libya. As a stark contrast I based the bottom half on shallow tabloid articles such a Kim kardashians wedding, which also inspired the shape of the dress. I intended there to be juxtaposition between the colours of the newspaper and tabloids.

A-Line/Princess Sweetheart Court Train Chiffon Evening Dress With Beading Appliques Split Front

www.jjshouse.com/A-Line-Princess-Sweetheart-Court-Train-C...

This flapper dress, though not a Paris design, is hand stitched and beaded, and was collected by Marlyn Lawrentz, a Bloomington resident who adored vintage clothing. She donated it to the Museum in 1996. The circular patterning around the neckline was influenced by beaded collars, like the one pictured below, that were removed from Tut’s tomb.
