Or should that be "Down", "Town" ;-(
Just listen to the music of the traffic in the city
Linger on the sidewalk where the neon signs are pretty
How can you lose?
The light's so much brighter there
You can forget all your troubles, forget all your cares
So go downtown
Things will be great when you're
Downtown
No finer place for sure
Downtown
Everything's waiting for you (downtown, downtown)
Petula Clark... ( 1965 ) Gulp !!!!
looking down a track through a wheat field. This was taken with a sony A7r and a Canon FD 15mm fisheye. I couldn't find out much about this lens or find many shots but glad i got it as its super sharp and fun.
Not far from here there’s a small horse farm. I pass by frequently and admire the property so much. I take photos in every season. When I go through my photos to choose photos to share on Flickr I think, “Down The Road” there’s this small horse farm that’s given me many memories. Many of my photos were very cool and I saved them. Again, I found too that many of them warmed me as well. Gratitude and Kindness travel with me everywhere. This day was no exception. Thanks for viewing my work.
I don’t know about you, but I may need a little happy feel good sparkle power to get me through this week. That and the most delicious looking cinnamon bun that just got delivered to my desk. 😊 Thank god for Friday!
Happy weekend everyone! 😊

The E&LS is getting ready to leave southbound out of Channing with a mix of cars in tow behind the classic looking GM Electro-Motive Leasing SD40-2.
They are pulling a trio of 2-bay covered hoppers, a long cut of open log cars, a few heavy cars of logs and about ten box cars at the tail end.

NYSW #4066, NS #7683, NS #8084, and NS #1817 bring the re-routed NS 28X east down the Delaware River. Here they are seen just south of Deposit, NY with the Delaware River in the background.
Dying Epidendrum orchid (crucifix orchid, here's a photo of it in bloom). For Smile on Saturday's theme "Upside Down".
I've been a bit absent lately because I'm preparing a presentation for a congress next monday, and that kind of thing always leaves me anxious. So apologies for not commenting or faving your photos much, I will try to catch up next week.

Long-tailed duck landing at Barnegat Inlet on 1/23/2020. I enjoy watching these fast flying little ducks landing by simply plopping down and sliding across the water on their breast

Who's to say
What's impossible
Well they forgot
This world keeps spinning
And with each new day
I can feel a change in everything
And as the surface breaks reflections fade
But in some ways they remain the same
And as my mind begins to spread its wings
There's no stopping curiosity
I want to turn the whole thing upside down
I'll find the things they say just can't be found
I'll share this love I find with everyone
We'll sing and dance to Mother Nature's songs
I don't want this feeling to go away
~Jack Johnson (Upside Down Lyrics)
Looking back down the valley toward Horton in Ribblesdale from the walk upto Pen-y-ghent in the Yorkshire Dales. It was a lovely day for February but then the threatening sky with mist and rainy weather started to roll in from the distance.

The treetop path in the quadrant of the former women's accommodation in the Beelitz Heilstätten pulmonary sanatorium was built as a hot-dip galvanized steel structure made of commercially available structural steel and is over 700 m long. Since 2015, the path has led along the war ruins of the "Alpenhaus" and since 2020 you can also view the surgery building from a bird's eye view. At the observation tower (already shown see comment field) there is a viewing platform at the highest level, which can also be reached by elevator.
KALEO: Way down we go
A little farther down from Burnett Waterfalls, this little gem runs through the forested area. Coming from a more winter climate, that lush green fern stood out and just had to be front and center. This smaller waterfalls does not have a name, but rather made for a superb opportunity. Once again, it was simply on the path toward the Falls and was an easy prey for my camera.
As I was looking out for the banded rail, this white faced heron (also called blue heron or matuku moana) was busy feeding itself. As soon as it downed a morsel it went back fishing for it's next snack.
While everyone was fascinated by some peacocks that came by close, I looked up and saw this interested fellow. He was looking down on the tourists beneath him. Deep in my devilish mind I hoped for a little funny accident - if you know what I mean.
Shot on the wonderful Castelo de São Jorge in Lisbon Portugal.
Halfway down the stairs is a stair where I sit
There isn't any other stair quite like it
I'm not at the bottom, I'm not at the top
So this is the stair where I always stop

Another great day had me off to our local reserve where I noticed this Grey Butcherbird swooping into the grass below him, looking for insects and grubs. Guess Crickets are high on his delicacy list the way he quickly swallowed this insect down the hatch so to speak. Luckily I just finished bumping up the shutter speed to capture a bird in flight prior to this capture.
Right time, right place, right settings and hand held :-).
