This mockingbird was at the top of an Electric Pole singing. Every couple minutes it would fly up a few feet and then resume it's position.

"I will drive past your house

And if the lights are all down

I'll see who's around."

Spent the time up top

Flapping in the summer winds

Tired now, must lie down.

To get to The Dunnottar Castle first you have to climb down and then up again

The saying "Down Home" is a Southern thing. I have said it many times when away from home and speaking of life on the farm. There is something special about living in the country.

Thanks for stopping by

This urban landscape is taken looking down Tamar Street towards the north east. The Tamar River can be seen winding through the foothills. Despite the sunlight, it is becoming quite cold and the smoke from wood fires is visible in the valley.

These are two year old cubs who are following their mom down to the bottom of the falls after fishing at the top of the falls. The lead bear is trying its best to get down without hurting itself. Unfortunately, they weren't any more successful below the falls.

Taken 15 July 2022 at Brooks Falls, Alaska.

Thankfully!

A trip back to July 2011, when my grown-up daughter and I cycled the Yorkshire Dales Cycle route together.

The route is approx 210km/130m long and climbs ca. 4000m with some very steep bits (too steep for my legs, though not my daughter's!).

This is on our final day (Reeth to Skipton) and having cycled along Coverdale, we are dropping steeply down into Kettlewell (I think that we are, but am happy to be corrected if my memory has failed me!).

13+ years ago - gosh!

Although this fellow looks cold, the image was taken on a warm summer morning in the local wetlands.

Slow down; God is still in heaven. You are not responsible for doing it all yourself, right now.

You may have seen them hanging out on power-lines or low hanging branches scanning the ground for prey. When hunting, they swoop down from their perches to catch bugs like grasshoppers, crickets, and beetles. Eastern Bluebirds are skilled hunters that occasionally can snatch bugs out of midair. They are also known to eat various types of berries in the winter.

Or should that be "Down", "Town" ;-(

Just listen to the music of the traffic in the city

Linger on the sidewalk where the neon signs are pretty

How can you lose?

The light's so much brighter there

You can forget all your troubles, forget all your cares

So go downtown

Things will be great when you're

Downtown

No finer place for sure

Downtown

Everything's waiting for you (downtown, downtown)
