She's watching an area that she is not allowed in which is where I feed the birds and critters. She has acres upon acres to run and play but she still wants what is not available to her.

Twr Mawr (big tower) was, from 1845 until 1976, the lighthouse which marked the rocky peninsula near the south west corner of Anglesey known as Llanddwyn Island.

Built in a conical style, perhaps inspired by the design of Anglesey's windmills, this 35ft tower with an effective height above sea level of 82ft was visible from 7 miles away. The original 'Twr Bach' beacon just across the bay, equipped with a directional flashing light, replaced Twr Mawr as lighthouse for Llanddwyn in 1976.

With a KCKNTW at Park Jct just getting a route into Northtown, East Hump has this westbound on main 1, while running eastbounds on the Midway. Departing out the Bluff Yard, they called themselves a V-BLUMIN when talking to the Northtown yard master - must have picked up their headend general merchandise at the bluffs. The empty lumber cars on the headpin make for neat evening shadows as they are about to pass under Snelling Avenue.

I found a solution to the problem of poor noise reduction on the Ricoh GR III files in Adobe products. DxO Optics PureRaw 2. Yep, I'm still on version two, and it does a much better job of noise reduction than Abobe's latest versions of Lightroom and Camera RAW.

This may be a unique complaint, but I've been unhappy with the noise reduction in Lightroom thus far. Early tests using DxO PureRaw eliminate any complaints I have about noise in the Ricoh raw files (up to ISO 1600; I haven't shot at a higher ISO yet-which is why I was surprised by the terrible results from Adobe products).

For many years, the right side was 'up', and left was 'down'. Then the tree fell, and the direction of growth changed ninety degrees.

I'm progressing pretty deep towards my final conclusion on the Laowa 12mm f/2.8 Zero D lens, but I can freely confess that I've been having a great time with it. The lack of barrel distortion makes it a great option for my many forays into the forest. You can see my first look video on the lens here: bit.ly/2gnx4Td. I don't enjoy the shorter periods of daylight this time of year, but the directional light (this shot was taken around 1:45 PM!) makes for very unique images. Watch for my final review in the next week.

As more MACs got delivered, the BNSF used them on longer ore trains that ran out of Minnesota's Iron Range. Here a trio of MACs roll down the Aurora Sub with ore bound for Granite City. The train passes the classic ex-CB&Q ABS directional signals that controlled most of this trackage to St. Paul. These were replaced in 2015 with the coming of PTC.

The DPUs on a westbound UP manifest roll along the Columbia River just east of The Dalles. At the time of this photo, the railroad was still directional double track between Rowena and Biggs Junction. Guarding the main was an assortment of hooded tri-light signals dating back several decades. Today it's bidirectional railroad with standard Safetran lights.
