These flooded trees look like Paint Brushes dipped in water - their trails of ink dissolving into the ripples. Coole Park in Galway.

One of this country's most underrated bass players, as far as I'm concerned. As one myself, I've analyzed Sloan's stuff with a tooth pick, and Chris' playing is far from simple. It's of course loud and fast (as metal/punk/hard rock would require); but it's got a very melodic edge to it. More often than not, his playing is the one that actually carries the melody forward into whatever bridge. Now, a lot of punk generally does this; but punk NEVER carries the very smooth, pop melodies to the degree Chris does. I'm actually starting to get rather frustrated to be honest.

There's only one other bassist I know who creates those kinds of bass lines..
