These flamingos at the Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium provided entertainment for at least a half hour. They would stomp their feet in the water as to stir up algae and feed with their heads like this for minutes. Very entertaining indeed.

Moody’s Analytics has revised its near-term assessment of the U.S. economy in the past month as a result of the calamitous national debt debate and the lowering of the U.S. credit rating by Standard & Poor’s. Moody’s now estimates that the annualized real gross domestic product will grow by 2% in the second half of 2011 rather than the 3% forecasted earlier in the year. The 2012 GDP forecast is 3% compared to the 3.5% it predicted even a month ago for next year.
