The reserve is a miniature wetland on the site of a former trout farm, and a haven for all manner of wildlife, including the water vole.

In the absence of any weather worthy of ice lollies I made chicken satay meat lollies for the football with sweet chilli and soy sauce dips.
I made three batches of hummus.
This was the second one. I made it from a recipe by Rachel Ray, it had cumin and coriander in it. It turned out pretty good, but the spices were a little on the heavy side; great consistency though!
