Thanksgiving at Bagram. Since we can’t be with family, the DFAC folks go all out to decorate and have the traditional Thanksgiving Dinner with all the trimmings. 401st personnel took turns serving before they sat down to enjoy the spread.

Culinary specialist across the 10th Mountain Division (LI) cooked up a Thanksgiving feast to thousands of Fort Drum Soldiers and family members Nov. 26 at the four specially-decorated dining facilities on post. The culinary teams worked overnight to cook, bake and decorate and some of the work was labored on for days ahead of time. HEIDELBERG, Germany -- Brig. Gen. Paul Wentz, USAREUR’s logistics directorate deputy chief of staff speaks at the U.S. Army Europe and Installation Management Command Europe 43rd Annual Food Service Awards ceremony held here on Patrick Henry Villiage, Oct. 28. "[These awards] really recognizes the team work, professionalism, service and the quality that our dining facilities have and continue to improve on through this competition," said Wentz.

PRESIDIO OF MONTEREY, Calif. -- More than 900 members of the Presidio of Monterey military community gathered for a traditional holiday meal at Presidio of Monterey's Belas and Combs dining facilities Nov. 26. The facilities serve students at the Defense Language Institute's Foreign Language Center, many of whom are new servicemembers who are spending their first Thanksgiving away from home. The DFACs also serves military families who are away from their own extended families during the holiday, and staff members -- some of whom are just being introduced to the American holiday and its traditions. Thanksgiving 2005 at Dining Facility 1 (DFAC 1) in Iraq. They tend to decorate whenever they get an excuse. This place is huge, maybe 500 yards by 200 yards, and full of tables, and cafeteria food. Joy.
