I really enjoy driving these little Darts, they're really nippy machines. Only niggle is that sometimes the automatic gears don't select correctly which makes the bus jolt a bit until you take your foot off the gas for a few seconds to allow the gears to sort themselves out - could be my driving I suppose, being new to it and all that!?! Passengers must think the bus is running on kangaroo juice, still adds a bit of fun to their journey :-)

This was taken on the south bank of the Dart River on the extensive grassy flats that are located just upstream of the Rock Burn. Lake Sylvan lies in the extensive moraine deposits to the right, and Mt Alfred is the prominent hill on the right. The Rees River enters the from beyond the forested slopes on the left, while the Richardson Mountains form the distant skyline.
Common darter - Sympetrum striolatum - in flight. The season is moving on with the darters starting to replace the chasers and skimmers. Emperors still on the wing are increasingly being replaced by southern, brown and migrant hawkers. We even had parasol mushrooms pushing up this weekend.
Common Darter - Garden. Surprised to see this freshly emerged Darter sunning itself on the honeysuckle. As far as I'm aware this is the first newly emerged Dragonfly that we've ever had. This is the nearest I can get with my macro and unfortunately due to it being hidden in a honeysuckle was unable to get the DoF that I really wanted.

The darters or snakebirds are mainly tropical waterbirds in the family Anhingidae having a single genus Anhinga. There are four living species, three of which are very common and widespread while the fourth is rarer and classified as near-threatened by the IUCN. The term "snakebird" is usually used without any additions to signify whichever of the completely allopatric species occurs in any one region. It refers to their long thin neck, which has a snake-like appearance when they swim with their bodies submerged, or when mated pairs twist it during their bonding displays. "Darter" is used with a geographical term when referring to particular species. It alludes to their manner of procuring food, as they impale fishes with their thin, pointed beak. The American darter (A. anhinga) is more commonly known as the anhinga. It is sometimes called "water turkey" in the southern United States for little clearly apparent reason; though the anhinga is quite unrelated to the wild turkey, they are both large, blackish birds with long tails that are sometimes hunted for food.
Anhinga is derived from the Tupi ajÃÅ‹a (also transcribed áyinga or ayingá), which in local mythology refers to a malevolent demonic forest spirit; it is often translated as "devil bird". The name changed to anhingá or anhangá as it was transferred to the Tupi–Portuguese LÃngua Geral. However, in its first documented use as an English term in 1818, it referred to an Old World darter. Ever since, it has also been used for the modern genus Anhinga as a whole.

Midland Red LD8 3997, SHA 397 a 1952 Leyland Titan PD2/20 is passing the Plough and Harrow on the Hagley Rd. It is working on the 125 Wolverhampton to Birmingham via Dudley service.
In the foreground is a hardtop fitted Daimler SP250 originally know as the Dart, this car had a polyester-resin body and a V8 140bhp engine giving a claimed top speed of 123mph, it was designed by Edward Turner a name well known as a motorcycle designer with Triumph. The car would cost you £1395.0s.0d and your hardtop another £75. The police had a few of these for motorway work.

Sympetrum striolatum. I took this photo of a Common Darter dragonfly on my garden fence with my new Sony A6600 and 18-135 kit lens. I wasn't quite square on to it, and so the head isn't quite sharp as I focussed on the abdomen to avoid the wings bringing the focus point forward. Also I should have composed the photo with the insect slightly to the left. Often I would correct this through cropping but I wanted to show the semi-macro capability of the lens by posting a shot without any crop. This is pretty much the minimum focus distance and I'm quite please with its performance for semi-macro insect shots, which is one of the reasons I bought it.

The Daimler SP250 sports car, or Dart as it is better known, is probably one of the most underrated classics cars on the road.
This one was at Meols as part of this years Wirral Classic car Run, for some reason it was parked in the garden centre car park and not seen as part of the display.
An underground station in Texas exists in only one place - the Cityplace/Uptown station in Dallas. The station is not a simple cut and cover method but is actually more than 100 feet underground. A connection with McKinney Ave/MLine can be made using "vertical" transportation.
A security guard is posted in the station. The ramp seen here was part of the modifications when DART added the C section to their cars to make them ADA accessible. At most stations the ramps give the impressions that platforms look like rolling hills with all the ramps that have been added for each car.
