Seaford & District Dennis Dart M73 CYJ now with fleet logos once again. This bus is semi preserved and was the first modern bus the company operated when it first started so is nice to have it back once again

(Sympetrum striolatum) Common Darter's taking advantage of the warmth on a bench in the woods at Minsmere.
Altogether there were 15 males and 3 females sitting on the wood, the bench being the only available perch in the sun out of the wind

This common darter (Sympetrum striolatum) had been bugging me all morning. I was working from home and from the corner of my eyes I could see him (it's male) catching mosquitos and other small insects and constantly returning to my outdoor table. When I went outside during a break to take some photo's of him a wasp kept bugging him so he flew away, only to return after a few minutes. I really like this species as the little dots are like little specks of gold leaf.

Safeguard Coaches of Guildford have a smart fleet of 15 buses consisting of Optare Excels, Tempos, Versas and MetroCitys, MCV Evoras and a solitary Plaxton Pointer bodied Dennis Dart. As the weather was nice today (08/02/2023), I popped over to Guildford to see what I could snap.
In the last couple of photos in the Dunlaoghaire ANSEO street art series, I have included a recreation of a DART ticket with an image of the DART coming into a station in the middle of it. The DART is the Dublin Area Rapid Transit system in Dublin. It’s the train line that runs along the coast from Greystones to Howth (and sometimes Malahide). I’m not sure it’s all that rapid really!

From Saturday 15th November until Sunday 21st December 2014, ARRIVA in partnership with Medway Council are running a tour bus exploring the countryside around Rochester that author Charles Dickens lived in and loved. The tour starts at the Guildhall Museum in Rochester and visits a number of places of interest around Cobham, Higham and Cooling that were well-known by Charles Dickens and which featured in his novels.
Seen here on the first trip of the day, ARRIVA Kent & Surrey 3318 T218 NMJ which carries a unique gold livery with appropriate branding including some of a Christmas flavor is seen on Cooling Road between Cooling and Cliffe as it heads back to Rochester Guildhall after visitng St John's Church in Cooling. Saturday 29th November 2014.
The trip to St Johns Church in Cooling was made because it was there where Charles Dickens used the churchyard as his inspiration in the opening chapter of Great Expectations, where the hero Pip meets Magwitch the convict. It's also worthy to note that no bus service currently serves Cooling so this is very much off the beaten track!

Though I've still got plenty of shots from out Norwegian trip and will certainly be posting some more, I thought it time to post a few more recent shots. This Common Darter obligingly stopped to rest on a rose bud in the Rose Garden at Dunham.

It's strange to think that this must be the newest Arriva Dart to have ever visited the town!
