Somehow Citybus' Darts seem to defy the chop, just when a year or so when they looked to be on their way the remaining 7 continue to put in the hard work.
Sadly it looks as if most of the major ops are winding down Dart operation, FSW announced theirs will probably be gone by May and some of Stagecoach ones are failing by the wayside when major/multiple faults develop - a cost factor thing now I am sure.
Ironically earlier in the day before I took this, sister Dart no.60 was seen being towed after breaking down but did re-enter service so obviously nothing too major wrong!
Bit of a tight shot this, had to crop slightly as some bloke walked past to the right and his arm got in the shot!
61 is passing the entrance to Plymouth Gin Distillery to the left (note the repo but period appropriate street lantern) off to the right is where myself and the wife had just emerged from 'The Bottling Plant' which is now a restaurant/cocktail/drinks bar but was once the bottling location for Plymouth Gin!
Oriental darter (Anhinga melanogaster) or Snake bird, drying out and warming up in the early morning light at Bundala National Park, Sri lanka.
Squarepeg SF04RHJ has been running with a private plate for some months but is now originally registered again, here it is operating the 22 in Garforth. This vehicle was new in Scotland with Mc Colls but became a loan vehicle with a dealership before moving on again and eventually finding a home here.
A “selfie” at Dart Glacier near Cascade Saddle in Mt Aspiring National Park, New Zealand. I last hiked/tramped here in February 1979. It has changed a little bit but not as much as I would have thought. Will post photos from 1979 when I get home.
This Dart MPD suffered vandalism while in storage at a third part premises. Its seen back at the depot having been stripped of its doors and ear-marked for early withdrawal.
It was sold to a UK buyer in 2011.
Fairly boring bus, this!

The Oriental Darter is like all other anhingas, a cormorant-like species that has a very long neck. The structure of the neck is as in other species of darter with strongly developed muscles about a kink in the neck that allows it to be flexed and darted forward with rapid force to stab fish underwater. The Oriental Darter is found mainly in freshwater lakes and streams. They usually forage singly, with the entire body submerged, swimming slowly forward using their webbed feet while the head and neck is moved jerkily above the water. It darts its neck to impale fish and then brings them out of water, tossing them into the air before swallowing the fish head first. They may sometimes be found along with cormorants which share the habit of spreading out their wings to dry when perched on a waterside rock or tree.
Many thanks to you ALL for the views, faves and comments you make on my shots it is very appreciated.
This was taken in our garden last year, the Common Darter Dragonfly with a macro lens even with my own technique to take these sort of images it took me about a dozen attempts to take this but it was worth it in the end I love this the detail on the body is excellent! what do you lot think?

On a visit to Plaxtons in the early part of 1995 I was given a sneak preview of the prototype Pointer body on the new Dart SLF.
At the time I was allowed to take some pictures providing I didn't show them to anyone before the official launch.
Now 17 years later I think publication may be allowed.
Stagecoach 34816 (PX06 DWA) appears to be back on the old route 12 the buses used to take, but today, For a while at least, Badby Road was closed, so a now rare sight of a Dennis Dart along High Street, Braunston. I assume the buses went to Willoughby, and back to Barby via Longdown Lane?

As I mentioned recently, the last two LDP Darts (206 & 274) at Bexleyheath have finally been retired.
Their replacements were SE35 & 36 which were surplus at River Road after the arrival of new MMCs.
I was very fortunate as SE35 was the only one of the batch I hadn’t ridden (it had latterly been kept to schools at RR) so I corrected that today with a ride from Woolwich to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where it’s seen on the stand. 23.12.19.
