Cyclops, played by James Marsden, from X-Men (2000).
The decals are my own design. The ruby-quartz visors are made from Sculpey. Everything else is LEGO.

I just got this mask at a toy show yesterday.
The Cyclops guy from Krull !
Not the best film. But a cool 80s fantasy adventure movie.
I think this mask is funny !
It has the two eyes for the kid to see through. Which makes the cyclops eye the third eye for the face . That kind of defeats the ideal of a cyclops mask ! :)
Me as Cyclops from the X-Men
...or The Red Eye!? This mechanical menace is manufactured from a super heavy-duty Navy battery powered lantern. His arms are grab-handles off a 50's 5th wheel trailer. I re-fitted the lense and bulb with a vintage electronic gauge. His bodacious legs are a combination of stainless test tube, solid gears(?) cannibalized from a cars rear differential( ...like anyone really cares!) and a set of steel spring. 18" tall
47087 Cyclops heading out of Bank Quay Station viewed from Slutchers Lane, heading to Shotton Steel Works with the steel coils from Ravenscraig, which would of been a pair of electrics to Warrington. The train would follow the Manchester to North Wales service around 1825.
Cyclops was ETH fitted and renumbered to 624 in 1984 and would finally be cut up at Booths 2006.

I was asked to photograph a Halloween party recently. i set up 'shop' in the basement of an old house in Philadelphia and invited party goers to come down and pose for me.

While photographers tend to be somewhat a solitary type I think we do better when we work together and share. Take the location of this arch as an example.
I had been in this area before taking pictures of another arch called the Boot. I had seen photos of the Cyclops arch before but I had no idea where it was. On this trip to Lone Pine I was shooting with a friend and we started comparing notes on other arches we had found. Jean mentioned about the Cyclops. Even though it was already mid-day, I eagerly said I was up to go see it. I have been all through the Alabama Hills many, many times. When she showed me where it was I could not believe that I had been so close yet not known it was there. If it was not for her showing me where it was who knows when I would have discovered it.
On a walk there we discovered these cool little flowers. The flower was very petite with nice green leaves low to the ground. What made it unique was the flowers were black! They were not dead as we found more of these flowers scattered throughout the area. I cannot wait for Jean to post her shots of them.
I digress. I took several shots of the Cyclops Arch even though it was mid-day and the sky was filled with an ugly grey cloud cover. I figured the pictures would be flat but it would be a good way to test certain compositions. That way I would know how I wanted to shoot it when I came back. I was pleasantly surprised how well this shot actually came out. Thanks Jean for the guided tour!.
A rare glimpse of one of the Geeklops that roam the distant caverns of ward 63.7 of the institution.
Some say they were created by feeding the dna (extracted from the toenail) of a cyclops to a bunch of eager geeks.
But that wouldn't explain the sheer numbers of them that flock around those caverns, long since sealed off from the outside world.
Nope.
I know the truth.
It was a batch of my weak lemon drink that somehow spilled into a pizza destined for an all night LARP convention. I alone am able to stomach the weak lemon drink. That much is now abundantly clear.
Poor thing.
It somehow escaped.
Fear not. I neutralised it seconds after snapping this photo.
Yup.
Can never be too sure.

No dioramas for today. Seen here is the recently released Hasbro Marvel Legends Series 3 Cyclops (in Astonishing get-up) and Colossus from Toybiz Marvel Legends Series 5. Both are wicked cool figures. The Sentinel parts are the base from Magneto (the head) and Colossus himself. The head was photoshopped onto Colossus. Quite satisfied with the outcome and glad most who've seen it are equally psyched!
Not a computer image! My first actual real life custom minifigure. I've always wanted a Cyclops minifig, but could never figure out how to make his visor. I tried sculpting with clay, using old plastic model pieces. Then I found Shapeways.com, it's a place where you can upload your designs and have them turned into real life 3d objects. I uploaded my Maya file, and in a week or so I had an actual visor! www.shapeways.com/model/393044/cyclops_visor.html
