i was sick and didn't go to school 2 days last week
but i took lots of photos at home
i haven't taken decent photos there for a long time
i have tried, but nothing ever works out, usually because i don't have enough light and time, but i had it all that day (:
b&w version in comments
i really couldn't decide this time, i like them both equally!
A couple of images posted with a concept idea I saw somewhere on the Web, and thought I would try. (Well the Christmas lights were already out of the box !)
The Idea is to made it look like a load of spilled lights from a cup using short depth of field etc.
Must admit these attempts at it were close, but the version that inspired the shot was really good.(Wish I could remember where the shot was to give credit to the idea.)
Anyway hope these versions are OK. Not sure there is much difference, but let me know which you prefer and I will remove the other one to the dustbin.
As always suggestions, comments etc are most welcome

Had to get this at an antique store a few days ago. Absolutely love the colour of these cups and forget-me-nots. Don't know who made them, there's no label on the bottom. But they look to be high quality and in great shape.
