I spent the last morning of 2017 walking up to High Cup Nick, which I've been meaning to do for years. I was rewarded with great views but a lot of disappointing images (and numb fingers). Mostly to blame was the wind that made my tripod vibrate and water drops constantly covering the lens which I only noticed later. But I returned with a few that made the journey worthwhile.

The coffee is traditionally served in a small porcelain cup called a kahve fincanı 'coffee cup'.

Happy Macro Monday!

SO many of these frames were too soft around the fringe.. really makes you appreciate the lenses you've got now.

The immediate thought is .. where's it gone?

Here's how it came to be .. with a rather nice picture too!

The best way to start the summer day is with a big cup of coffee in the garden.

This cup/mug was designed for the UK National Trust conservation charity.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to view, comment, and fave my photo. It’s really appreciated.😊

You know that drink that only comes in the copper cup like that, that is what I want.

the staggering ...

in the shadow of a wall ... this cup stands on a small pedestal almost hidden ...

the pedestal is part of a work of art that consists of two walls, with added props that reshape the space of four walls ... the room is in a very large classicist building ... again in an urban space, in a natural space in a country, on a continent on a planet in a galaxy ...

the next step up I show on poetry and truth ...

The work of Haris Epaminonda (*1980 Nicosia, Cyprus) is about the examination of a complex, cultural-historical cosmos. The Cypriot artist transforms collage-like combinations of photographs, films, sculptures, objects, and found objects and images into expansive installations and multi-layered narratives. Her motifs come from a wide variety of sources and leave room for numerous associations.

Peziza is a large genus of saprophytic cup fungi that grow on the ground, rotting wood, or dung. Most members of this genus are of unknown edibility and are difficult to identify as separate species without use of microscopy. The polyphyletic genus has been estimated to contain over 100 species. I have got to stop eating the things I am photographing whilst photographing them. But honestly, coffee beans taste amazing. Maybe I am crazy (I can just imagine my friend jumping in there and telling me that there is no maybe about it), but I really like the taste of coffee beans, despite hating the taste of coffee as a drink or in coffee cake. Coffee beans taste like the smell of coffee, which I think coffee in hot water does not quite taste like. Admittedly, these were not the best coffee beans, but they are dark espresso beans, when I really wanted something slightly lighter, but I was rushing and they were the first beans I could find.

The saucer had roses on it, and it took 1 ¼ hours to get rid of them in Photoshop, and I still did a bad job in the bottom left corner. It probably has something to do with the fact that all I have eaten today is a cheese toasty and coffee beans.

Did you know that coffee is the second most traded commodity in the world? Oil comes first, of course.
