At least that's what I think it is. To me, the most spectacular of all the flowers of cactus.

I've had a stack of vintage tea cups on my dining room table for a month now...finally got around to shooting them :))))

Almost ready to pack them away again, but can't bring myself to do it. They're all from my Moms side of the family, Grandma's & great Grandma's. Thinking they may deserve a place on display, they won't stop tugging at my heart strings :))

On the Sparks Street Mall in Ottawa, in celebration of Canada's 150th anniversary there's a tribute Lord Stanley and the iconic cup he donated to our great game.

For (most) Canadians, having an affinity for the 'Cup is quite common. I have on two occasions been close to Cup, so as to run my fingers over the numerous names and teams to find my childhood heroes engraved there. It's quite a special feeling.

Originally commissioned in 1892 as the Dominion Hockey Challenge Cup, the trophy is named after Lord Stanley of Preston, then–Governor General of Canada, who donated it as an award to Canada's top-ranking amateur ice hockey club, which the entire Stanley family supported, with the sons and daughters playing and promoting the game.
